Through a variety of awareness activities, Gardner-Webb University regularly spotlights the issue of human trafficking and offers support to its victims. The next opportunity to help people impacted by trafficking comes Nov. 18 as GWU hosts a fundraising concert in Dover Theatre. The performance, sponsored by the University’s Release Club, will feature the Rory Tyer Band and it will help raise money to support an organization that works to fight human trade.

Joan Morgan is the author of “When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost’, activist, and doctoral student. She is of Jamaican descent. Her parents came to the United States and settled in the Bronx near Crotona Park. Her father was one of the founding members of the Jamaican Labor party; she calls the Bustamante's her “godparents.” He was also a member of the Jamaica Freedom League while in the Bronx.
While living on Fulton Avenue, Joan used to frequently go to Crotona Park because of the community center right by it, the Clermont Center. Her mother was an active member of …

Schlipf relates memories of his friendship with Myers during their Carleton College years. He does not recall Myers as a collector, but he remarks on Myers' interest in trains, books as important physical objects, and shares insights into Myers' personality. Throughout Schlipf also comments on his own experiences with Carleton and with libraries.

In the last year, the Library at Minnesota State University, Mankato has launched two repositories for digital content, Cornerstone: A Collection of Scholarly and Creative Works and ARCH: University Archives Digital Collections. An important component of developing these repositories has been our marketing efforts. We will share how we worked together with Integrated Marketing, Printing Services, and the Library Outreach Committee to actively promote and advance the collections.
