Immunohistochemical Assessment Of Cytokeratin 17 And Epcam Expression In Different Grades Of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Safaa El-Baz, Iman Helmy, Mohamed Hosam El Mallahy
Dentistry
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), one of the most common malignancies in the head and neck region, is graded based on Broder’s classification into well-differentiated, moderately, and poorly differentiated. Cytokeratin 17 (K17, CK17) is an acid-type I cytokeratin with a low-molecular weight of 48.1 kDa. Epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) is a hemophilic Ca2+ independent adhesion molecule. This study used an immunohistochemical technique (IHC) to examine the expression of CK17 and EpCAM in thirty-two specimens of OSCC (comprising 13 well-, 9 moderately, and 10 poorly differentiated cases), and 2 specimens of normal oral mucosa, used as control. It was found …
My Blood Of The (New) Covenant: An Assessment Of René Girard's Soteriology In Light Of The Covenantal Milieu Of The Last Supper Sayings, Benjamin Burkholder
My Blood Of The (New) Covenant: An Assessment Of René Girard's Soteriology In Light Of The Covenantal Milieu Of The Last Supper Sayings, Benjamin Burkholder
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
This study assesses René Girard's claims regarding the Gospels' understanding of Jesus' death. Though Girard contends that the Gospels never depict Jesus' death as an atonement for sin, there are significant passages that Girard avoids discussing like the Last Supper sayings in the Synoptic Gospels. This dissertation investigates whether these central passages, along with other supporting texts in the Synoptics, jeopardize the viability of Girard's assertions, especially when they are read in light of restoration theology.
The core components of Girard's thought, his reading of salvation history, and the ways in which Girard's followers have adapted his thought are adumbrated …
Women In Alcoholics Anonymous: A Qualitative Research Study, Ariel Larson
Women In Alcoholics Anonymous: A Qualitative Research Study, Ariel Larson
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
This research looks at how women in particular navigate the complicated power dynamics of twelve-step programs, specifically AA, to achieve long-term sobriety. This study attempts to understand how women in AA are appropriating and shaping AA and its reliance on the twelve-steps in unique and resourceful ways to make recovery their own. The methodological approach of this study is empirical-phenomenological. Interviews with five female members of Alcoholics Anonymous were conducted, transcribed and analyzed in an attempt to identify and understand how women approach and adapt recovery strategies and technologies that evolved during the twentieth century to meet the needs of …
A New Ethical Model For The Analysis Of Care For Refugee Women Who Experience Female Genital Cutting, Sharon R. Higginbothan
A New Ethical Model For The Analysis Of Care For Refugee Women Who Experience Female Genital Cutting, Sharon R. Higginbothan
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The United States is rapidly becoming a location for refugee women who are migrating from countries that embrace different and distinctive practices. One such practice is Female Genital Cutting/ mutilation (FGC/m). FGC is a medical procedure that alters the natural structure and functioning of the female body. It is also a cultural tradition and custom. Until recently, worldwide studies estimated that approximately 80 to 140 million women have undergone FGC and that 228, 000 of those women live in the U.S. However, the estimate of women and girls in the U.S. living with or at risk from FGC has grown …
To Fidget Or Not To Fidget: The Effect Of Movement On Cognition, Kelsey Diane Grodner
To Fidget Or Not To Fidget: The Effect Of Movement On Cognition, Kelsey Diane Grodner
Theses and Dissertations
Previous research suggests that there is controversy regarding the effects of fidgeting. On one hand, fidgeting has been associated with inattention. On the other hand, the act of suppressing movement may have extensive costs to cognitive abilities. Thus, allowing fidgeting might be beneficial for attention. However certain fidgeting behaviors, such as large body movements, might be disruptive in certain situations, like a classroom or an office meeting. Fidget toys have been developed that allow for smaller fidgeting movements that are non-disruptive. Most previous studies have been conducted in an elementary school classroom and have used primarily observational data. Here we …
Role Of Student Entitlement And Co-Production On Satisfaction, Deborah Jean Sisson
Role Of Student Entitlement And Co-Production On Satisfaction, Deborah Jean Sisson
HCBE Theses and Dissertations
The marketing of services has challenges uncommon to that of marketing products. By nature service offerings are intangible, heterogeneous, perishable, and simultaneously consumed and produced. This simultaneous consumption and production often requires the consumer to participate in the service delivery – co-production. Colleges and universities offer a service which requires high levels of co-production by students and is the setting for this research. As colleges/universities face greater challenges at this time, there is a need for better understanding of the role the student plays in the production process. The service marketing literature offers an understanding of the importance of the …
Conductive Patterns By Spray Pyrolysis Of A Self-Reducing Copper-Amine Complex Ink, Phenfar Benjapongvimon
Conductive Patterns By Spray Pyrolysis Of A Self-Reducing Copper-Amine Complex Ink, Phenfar Benjapongvimon
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
A conductive pattern prepared by spray pyrolysis of copper-amine complex ink on glass and polyimide (PI) substrates in nitrogen atmosphere. The complex ink was prepared by mixing copper (II) formate, diethanolamine, 25% ammnonia solution and distilled water. The effects of concentration of copper ion, spray pyrolysis temperature, annealing time, type of substrate, rate of deposition and benzimidazole coating were investigated. Concentration of copper ion affected size of copper particles generated. The patterns fabricated at 200 OC had higher packing density than those fabricated at lower temperature. The rate of deposition determined the thickness of well-sintered layer. Therefore, volume resistivity of …

The Extra-Regional Dynamic Of Maritime Security In The South China Sea: A Case Study Of Vietnam And The Philippines From 1974 To The Present, William Fountain Kennedy
The Extra-Regional Dynamic Of Maritime Security In The South China Sea: A Case Study Of Vietnam And The Philippines From 1974 To The Present, William Fountain Kennedy
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
The Philippines and Vietnam valued their maritime connections with great powers during the Cold War and have continued to do so after if ended. In the bipolar context of the Cold War, both Manila and Hanoi eventually permitted Washington and Moscow to station naval forces on their coasts. As tension between Washington and Moscow diminished significantly in the early 1990s, maritime security interests of the Philippines and Vietnam changed. The withdrawal of US and Russian naval forces from the South China Sea left China without rivals. Beijing then emerged as an un-checked naval power in the South China Sea. US-China …
