Medical ageism refers to discrimination against, abuse of, stereotyping of, contempt for, and avoidance of older people. Experiences of childhood physical and sexual abuse among men have not been sufficiently studied because many men are not forthcoming about experiences of abuse. This abuse is linked to aggressive behaviors, difficulty developing and maintaining close relationships, and various psychological disorders. Current research has not fully examined relationships between childhood abuse, adult attachment, and levels of relationship satisfaction among men. Preservice training programs offered in a city in the Pacific Northwest have not been assessed to determine whether they adequately prepare therapeutic foster parents (TFPs). This phenomenological study identified factors that influenced the impact of preservice training on parents' preparation to manage their foster children's behavior, foster parent attrition, and multiple moves of the foster children. Chamberlain, Rork, McNeil, and Christenson's work linking training programs with the success of foster children was used to frame this study. If these behaviors remain uncorrected, there is increased potential for serious self-harm, harm to others, incarceration, and escalation of violence into homicide or suicide. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to explore how communication strategies that government agency leaders use may motivate greater employee job satisfaction. Twenty employees of a government office in Florida were the general population sample. The motivational language theory helped explore the nature of job satisfaction by focusing on leadership and employee communication strategies. Anthropogenic atmospheric CO2 reacts with water to form carbonic acid (H2CO3) which increases water acidity. While marine acidification has received recent consideration, less attention has been paid to the effects of atmospheric carbon dioxide on freshwater systems—systems that often have low buffering potential. Since many aquatic systems are already impacted by pollutants such as heavy metals, we wondered about the added effect of rising atmospheric CO2 on freshwater organisms. We studied aquatic pulmonate snails (Physella columbiana) from both a heavy-metal polluted watershed and snails from a reference watershed that has not experienced mining pollution. S.) with approximately half being women have hypertension, a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke (Nwankwo, Yoon, Burt, & Gu, 2013). Nearly 70% of people who had a first heart attack, 80% of those who had a first stroke, and 75% of those who had congestive heart failure (CHF) have hypertension (Mozaffarian et al., 2013). This study focused on prenatal anxiety in a clinical population, the characteristics of participants with reported high anxiety, and its association with cesarean deliveries. A pilot study was conducted that utilized focused patient interviews to determine patient barriers to and facilitators of screening colonoscopy. The interviews were transcribed and systematically analyzed to detect recurring patterns and themes related to screening colonoscopy completion or lack thereof. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize additional sample characteristics such as gender, education level, and income level. Among those who had received a screening colonoscopy (44%, 11 of 25), provider recommendation was the most influential factor for procedure completion, followed by the combination of provider plus family member recommendation. Stem cell therapy for the purpose of cartilage regeneration has gathered much attention. Bone marrow consists of two types of stem cell populations, the mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) and the hematopoietic stem cell (HSC). While MSCs have been demonstrated to have the capacity of differentiating into osteoblasts, chondrocytes, and adipoctyes, recent studies are beginning to delve into the possibility of hematopoietic stem cells also having this differentiation capability. Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon L.) is a perennial warm-season grass that is very responsive to nitrogen (N) fertilization. Excessive N applications have negative environmental consequences and make maintaining mixed swards difficult. This study determined the effects of enhanced efficiency (EE) N fertilizers and fertilizer rate on bermudagrass yields, nutritive values, and white clover persistence. Nitrogen sources included urea, urea formulated with Agrotain^® (U+A), urea with Agrotain^® and dicyandiamide (SuperU), a polymer-coated urea (ESN), ESN+urea (75% ESN, 25% urea), and methylene urea (MU). In the urea formulation trial, SuperU and U+A maximized forage yields at lower N rates. The …

mHealth is a fast growing segment for healthcare. However, there has been little research into the specific elements of mHealth that can drive continued use for optimization of the potential benefits. The purpose of this case study was to use the Delone and McLean Information System Model as a framework for classification of mHealth functionality and then to review the utilization of those categories over a six month period of time. A sample of 137 pediatric diabetics was reviewed. The activation rate was high at 94.9% indicating an interest in using mHealth. There was higher utilization of system features in …
