The Relationship Between Physical Activity And On-Task Behavior In Early Primary School Students, Michelle L. Thornton
The Relationship Between Physical Activity And On-Task Behavior In Early Primary School Students, Michelle L. Thornton
Theses and Dissertations--Education Sciences
The relationship between students’ physical activity (PA) and on-task behavior in the classroom setting was examined. Given that students spend nearly half of their waking hours in school, researchers have suggested that the school environment could play a crucial role in increasing children’s PA. Physical activity of 157 first- and second-grade students was assessed using ActiGraph (GT1M) accelerometers during school hours. Momentary time sampling (MTS) tracked the on-task behaviors of 72 of the 157 participants every 30 seconds. Multiple linear regressions and paired sample t tests were run to measure students’ classroom PA steps, PA intensity levels in the classroom, …
Justifying The Implementation Of A Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (Cdtm) Protocol In An Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic: A Retrospective Chart Review, Kevin Michael Bozymski
Justifying The Implementation Of A Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (Cdtm) Protocol In An Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic: A Retrospective Chart Review, Kevin Michael Bozymski
Undergraduate Honors Thesis Collection
Objective
To identify opportunities where pharmacists could intervene and justify the benefits of outpatient clinical pharmacy services through a CDTM protocol within Gallahue Mental Health Center by assessing current antipsychotic monitoring
Methods
A retrospective chart review was performed of patients visiting an outpatient psychiatric clinic over 14 months. A review was also completed of patients followed at two primary care clinics within Community Health Network. Patients were at least 18 years old and had at least one active antipsychotic prescription. A standardized data collection sheet was used to document monitoring frequency and appropriateness as recommended by the 2004 American Diabetes …
Can Americans Resist Surveillance?, Ryan Calo
Can Americans Resist Surveillance?, Ryan Calo
University of Chicago Law Review
This Essay analyzes the ability of everyday Americans to resist and alter the conditions of government surveillance. Americans appear to have several avenues of resistance or reform. We can vote for privacy-friendly politicians, challenge surveillance in court, adopt encryption or other technologies, and put market pressure on companies not to cooperate with law enforcement. In practice, however, many of these avenues are limited. Reform-minded officials lack the capacity for real oversight. Litigants lack standing to invoke the Constitution in court. Encryption is not usable and can turn citizens into targets. Citizens can extract promises from companies to push back against …

Do As I Say, Not As I Do: Sexual Health Education And The Criminalization Of Teen Sexuality In The United States, Sonya Laddon Rahders
Do As I Say, Not As I Do: Sexual Health Education And The Criminalization Of Teen Sexuality In The United States, Sonya Laddon Rahders
UC Law SF Journal on Gender and Justice
The subjects of sexual health education and adolescent sexuality in the United States are at best taboo, and at worst, the sites of serious - and sometimes even deadly- moral and social battles. Abstinence-only education programs are prevalent throughout the country, despite the increasingly common knowledge that they are woefully ineffective at decreaing rates of teen pregnancy and STI transmission. This note examines the failures of sexual health education through another lens: that of juvenile criminal punishment. Hypothesizing that states with more restrictive education regimes will also have stricter criminal penalties for adolescent sexual offenses, the author surveys the intersections …
Productivity And Biological Nitrogen Fixation Of Different Species Of Vetches (Vicia Spp.) Under The Rainfed Conditions Of West Asia, Ali Abd El Moneim, Mohan C. Saxena
Productivity And Biological Nitrogen Fixation Of Different Species Of Vetches (Vicia Spp.) Under The Rainfed Conditions Of West Asia, Ali Abd El Moneim, Mohan C. Saxena
IGC Proceedings (1977-2023)
The low rainfall areas of West Asia are characterized by pastoral production system primarily based on small ruminants (sheep and goats). Rangelands serve as the main source of feed. With increasing population, the demand for livestock products has increased. As a consequence, the stocking rates have soared, increasing the pressure on rangelands. Rangeland degradation has therefore been increasing threatening the sustainability of livestock production system and the livelihood of the people dependent on it. Production of additional feed is essential to reduce the pressure on rangelands. Vetches (Vicia spp.) are endemic in the area and can be potential source …
