Entrepreneurship Of Polish Lawyers, Marek Gnusowski
Studia i Materiały Wydział Zarządzania Uniwersytet Warszawski
Polish legal services market is developing fast. The role of Polish lawyers has changed and they are often seen as entrepreneurs who need to compete for customers, not only as professionals. There is no substantial amount of literature covering this subject in the realities of legal services and the existing publications are fragmented and do not provide a comprehensive overview. The aim of the study is to formulate the list of factors of entrepreneurship of Polish lawyers, which contribute to their prosperity. A theory of entrepreneurial competences will be used.

The challenging job market for recent law school graduates has highlighted a fact well known to those familiar with legal education: A significant gap exists between what students learn in law school and what they need to be practice-ready lawyers. Legal employers historically assumed the task of providing real-world training, but they have become much less willing to do so. At the same time, a large numbers of Americans – and not just those living at or below the poverty line – are simply unable to afford lawyers. In this Article, we argue that post-graduate legal training, similar to post-graduate …

This memo provides a wide scan of tools and platforms that either are, or ostensibly could be, used to conduct intake assessment and document storage in a clinic context. Our findings include comprehensive intake platforms that are designed exclusively for intake purposes, as well as a suite of tools that have broader application but lend themselves to application in an intake environment. We looked at tools marketed to professionals, institutions, businesses, and consumers.

Lawmatters At Your Local Public Library: A History Of Bc’S Program For Public Legal Information And Education In Public Libraries, Janet Freeman, Nancy Hannum
Canadian Forum on Civil Justice
Public libraries have always been an important partner in the education of their communities in all aspects of knowledge, including the legal system. In the 1970’s the Law Reform Commission of Canada conducted a survey to research how and where the public found legal information. All Canadians, regardless of financial or other barriers, should have reasonable access to justice. Yet the reality remains that for the nearly 20% of Canadians living in rural and remote communities, accessing justice remains difficult, largely due to the unique challenges to service provision that exist in rural and remote communities. These challenges are rooted in the geographical, demographic, and social and cultural characteristics that define rurality and remoteness, and in the varied combinations of these elements that determine the legal and social service needs of individual communities. Moreover, rural and remote areas have various infrastructure, resource, communication and social …
