Introduction: Recurrent hemoarthrosis leads to synovitis, bone erosion, and subsequent hemoarthropathy in hemophilia. Few clinical trials have focused on the efficacy and adverse effects of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), specifically cyclooxygenase-2-selective NSAIDs, in treating hemoarthropathy in patients with hemophilia. This study investigated the effect and safety of celecoxib in treating hemophilic arthropathy with synovitis. Materials and method: A total of 15 patients with hemophilic arthropathy were prescribed 200 mg of celecoxib twice per day for 30 days. Encephalocraniocutaneous lipomatosis (ECCL) is a very rare neurocutaneous syndrome with hallmark lesions including cranial lipomas, ocular lipodermoids and brain abnormalities. ECCL was first described by Haberland and Perou in 1970, and it is sometimes referred to as Haberland syndrome. The genetics of ECCL are unknown, however it is generally considered to be a genetically mosaic condition. Herein, we report the case of a 20-day-old infant girl who presented with weakness of bilateral upper limbs since birth. Disability, a long-standing problem affecting mankind, is associated with medical, social welfare, political, and human rights problems and, therefore, is complex. The World Health Organization (WHO) promulgated the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) in 2001, facilitating the study of disability in recent years. According to the WHO Disability Report, the worldwide prevalence of disability is 15%, and the minimal worldwide prevalence is estimated to be 1 billion cases. Before 2012, disability evaluation was based mainly on the medical model in Taiwan, and, therefore, the prevalence was lower than 5%, which is much lower than the international level. …

There are approximately 1200 new cases of traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) each year in Taiwan. Traumatic SCI often results from motor vehicle crashes, acts of violence or sports injuries. These are potentially leading patients to suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The characteristic symptoms of PTSD include persistent re-experiencing of the event, increased arousal and avoidance of stimuli associated with the trauma and numbing of general responsiveness. Background: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are commonly used to treat tendinopathy. Tendon healing requires migration of tendon cells to the repair site, followed by proliferation of these cells and collagen synthesis. Purpose: This study evaluated the effects of acetaminophen, etodolac, and indomethacin on tenocyte migration, proliferation, and synthesis of type I and III collagen. Methods: Rat Achilles tendon cells were treated with acetaminophen, etodolac, and indomethacin. Tendon cell migration and proliferation were assessed using transwell filter migration assay and MTT assay, respectively. The annual incidence of vertebral artery dissection is 1 in 100,000. The clinical manifestations are diverse, including dizziness, occipital headache, neck pain and posterior circulation ischemia. One fourth of patients with vertebral artery dissection develop posterior circulation stroke, so vertebral artery dissection is considered one of the common causes of young stroke. The most common ophthalmic signs after posterior circulation ischemia are blurry vision followed by diplopia, whereas complete visual loss is uncommon. The main purpose of the diagnostic ultrasound examination for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is to compensate for the inadequacies of physical examinations and nerve conduction studies and thereby reduce the false negative rate of CTS diagnosis. Background: Little is known regarding health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and its association with physical fitness among nurses. Purpose: To investigate whether physical fitness was associated with HRQOL among nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 232 volunteer nurses who were 31 years of age and free of disease-related disability. Physical fitness was assessed using a cws28 health-related physical fitness system which measured body composition (BMI and percentage body fat), balance, flexibility, muscle strength, muscular endurance, and cardiorespiratory fitness. Epidermoid cysts are rarely detected malformations in the oral cavity. Their development sites are the sublingual, submaxillary, and submandibular spaces. In this paper, we report a three-month-old infant who was admitted to our hospital due upper lip swelling. Magnetic resonance imaging showed that she had a two-centimeter cystic lesion and fusion defects of orbicularis oris muscle. The cyst was surgically removed, and histopathological diagnosis was “epidermoid cyst.” In recent literature, we could not find reports related to orbicularis oris muscle fusion defects because of epidermoid cyst.
