Resumen Este artículo pretende estudiar las principales Estrategias de ciberseguridad publicadas hasta el momento, prestando especial atención al componente educativo de las mismas. A partir de este análisis hacemos una serie de recomendaciones de cara al diseño e implementación de acciones educativas relativas a la ciberseguridad. Concluimos que la coordinación entre el sector público y privado, entre los estamentos militares y de los cuerpos de seguridad de un lado y la sociedad civil a la que sirven de otro, es vital para el desarrollo e impartición de un currículo apropiado sobre ciberseguridad en todos los niveles educativos.

Has Adam Gadahn Forsaken The Lawful Jihad For Anti-Americanism? A Case Study Of Ideological Contradictions, Paul Kamolnick

Despite his importance as a senior Al-Qaeda spokesman, no detailed examination exists of Adam Yahiye Gadahn’s employment of fiqh al-jihad—that branch of Islamic jurisprudence regulating the lawful waging of jihad—to condemn or condone violence committed in the name of Al-Qaeda. This article first provides a detailed exposition of Gadahn’s sharia-based critique of affiliates’ conduct deemed by him in violation of Islamic law and involving the commission of major sins. Second, Gadahn’s conception of fiqh al-jihad is contextualized and contrasted with the comprehensive fiqh al-jihad-based critiques produced by respected militant Islamist scholars. Aims: Cancer cachexia is a syndrome which results in severe loss of muscle mass and marked fatigue. Conditioned media from cachexia-inducing cancer cells triggers metabolic dysfunction in skeletal muscle, including decreased mitochondrial respiration, which may contribute to fatigue. We hypothesized that Lewis lung carcinoma conditioned medium (LCM) would impair the mitochondrial electron transport chain (ETC) and increase production of reactive oxygen species, ultimately leading to decreased mitochondrial respiration. We incubated C2C12 myotubes with LCM for 30 min, 2, 4, 24 or 48 h. We measured protein content by western blot; oxidant production by 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescin diacetate (DCF), 4-amino-5-methylamino-2′,7′-difluorofluorescein diacetate (DAF), and …

We have gathered over 3100 annual financial reports for 500 companies listed on the S&P 500 index, where the main goal was to select and give proper weights to the various pieces of quantitative data to maximize clustering results and improve prediction results over previous work by [Lin et al. 2011]. Various financial ratios, including earnings per share surprise percentages were gathered and analyzed. We proposed and used two types, correlation based ratios and causality based ratios. A Hash-Cash Based Music Streaming Payment System, Timothy Chen

This project develops a hash-cash based, streaming music payment system. In our system, musicians are paid based on how long their works are listened to. Artists can upload their works to our proof-of-concept service so that people can discover and listen to them. While their works are being listened to, a mining process is run in parallel. The mining process discovers a “listening coin” based on the hash-cash algorithm. Users of our service would pay a monthly fee to access the music library. The monthly fees are then distributed to all artists proportionate to the number of virtual coins they …

Passivation Of Amorphous Indium-Gallium-Zinc Oxide (Igzo) Thin-Film Transistors, Nathaniel Walsh

Theses

Thin-film transistors (TFTs) with channel materials made out of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) and polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) have been extensively investigated. Amorphous silicon continues to dominate the large-format display technology; however newer technologies demand a higher performance TFT which a-Si:H cannot deliver due to its low electron mobility, µn ~ 1 cm2/V*s. Metal-oxide materials such as Indium-Gallium-Zinc Oxide (IGZO) have demonstrated semiconductor properties, and are candidates to replace a Si:H for TFT backplane technologies.
