A Kinect-Based System For Automatic Recording Of Some Pigeon Behaviors, Damian Lyons, James Macdonall, Kelly Cunningham

Contact switches and touch screens are the state of the art for recording pigeons’ pecking behavior. Recording other behavior, however, requires a different sensor for each behavior, and some behaviors cannot easily be recorded. We present a flexible and inexpensive image-based approach to detecting and counting pigeon behaviors that is based on the Kinect sensor from Microsoft. Although the system is as easy to set up and use as the standard approaches, it is more flexible because it can record behaviors in addition to key pecking. The final product functionality of parts produced by Additive Manufacturing (AM) can, in part, be improved by the inclusion of multi-material capabilities. The “Multi3D system” that is under development at The University of Texas at El Paso uses material extrusion printing (or fused deposition modeling), solid conductor wire embedding, direct-write, component placement, and micromaching to enable multi-material fabrication. The Multi3D was designed to transport a workpiece between manufacturing stations via a six-axis robot, portable build platform (PBP), and a controlled temperature environment or chamber that travels to each manufacturing station. The digital revolution has made it easier for Political Scientists to share and access high-quality research online. However, many of these articles are stored in proprietary databases that some institutions cannot afford. High-quality, peer reviewed, top-tier journal articles that have been made open access (freely available online) should theoretically be more easily accessed and cited than articles of similar quality that are only available to paying customers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) kelas X Teknik Komputer Jaringan (TKJ) dalam pembelajaran Perbaikan dan Setting Ulang PC melalui penerapan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X kompetensi keahlian TKJ. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi dengan instrumen checklist dan tes unjuk kerja. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran relevansi kurikulum Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin FKIP Universitas Palangka Raya dengan kompetensi guru pemula SMK, berdasarkan tinjauan terhadap profil kurikulum dan profil kompetensi mahasiswa calon guru pemula SMK. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan The Explanatory Sequential Design. Informasi data penelitian diperoleh dari populasi 18 orang dosen dan dari populasi 24 orang mahasiswa yang melaksanakan PPL II. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan Praktik Kerja Industri peserta didik Program keahlian Teknik Otomotif di SMK Giripuro Sumpiuh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, dokumentasi dan observasi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang kemudian dianalisis secara diskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Konteks peserta didik menyatakan memahami sebanyak 96 siswa (80%), guru pembimbing sekolah menyatakan memahami sebanyak 5 guru (50%) dan pembimbing industri menyatakan memahami sebanyak 10 pembimbing (83,4%). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengetahui kontribusi manajemen operasi laboratorium, (2) pemanfaatan internet, dan (3) motivasi berprestasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa jurusan RPL seKabupaten Bantul. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan kuesioner. Statistik inferensial digunakan dengan metode analisis deskriptif dan analisis regresi. This study focuses on the field test of a design team intervention in two rural and one urban site experiencing high workforce turnover. Hypothesis 1: Job satisfaction is significantly improved among public child welfare workers participating in the Design Team intervention. Hypothesis 2: Job satisfaction is significantly related to lower turnover in public child welfare workers participating in the Design Team intervention. The Design Team is an externally facilitated intervention in which team members consist of caseworkers and supervisors representing all services provided by the agency. Paper analyses barriers to science-industry cooperation in Slovenia through three detailed case studies. Each case tackles both sides, industry (firms) and science (university/research institute). Case studies confirm our assumption that it is the lack of companies with in-house R&D activities which is the main structural deficit for more science-industry cooperation. Strengthening of firms’ in-house R&D departments and staff, and clustering of firms around the most propulsive ones is the precondition for more science-industry cooperation. Rutledge re-evaluates—from the purview of African Diaspora literary studies—historiography that considers the place of East African slave lore in T'ang Dynasty fiction. Julie Wilensky's "The Magical Kunlun and 'Devil Slaves': Chinese Perceptions of Dark-skinned People and Africa before 1500" (2002), a revision of Chang Hsing-lang's "The Importation of Negro Slaves to China Under the T'ang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907)" (1930), is pivotal since it occupies the nexus between European-American, East-Asian, and African-Diasporic canons and policies.
