Investigation Of Child Headed Households In Mozambique, Africa, Gerald Cochran, Jini Roby
Investigation Of Child Headed Households In Mozambique, Africa, Gerald Cochran, Jini Roby
Journal of Undergraduate Research
Child headed households (CHHs) are homes lead by “…children [who] live alone and manage the household without guidance and economic support from adults” (Aspaas, 1999, p. 202). This definition may or may not exclude adults as residents of the home. Some CHHs have adults residing in the home, but the child most certainly is the leader and the responsible one of the home. The HIV/AIDS pandemic has spread across the African continent causing children to be left as orphans and/or left to care for themselves and others (Foster, Shakespeare, Chinemana, Jackson, Gregson, Marange, & Mashumba, 1995). However, HIV/AIDS is not …

Indecision : Biopsychological Frames, Sarah G. Danborn
Indecision : Biopsychological Frames, Sarah G. Danborn
Theses, Dissertations, and Projects
This project is a theoretical investigation of indecision as it has been conceptualized from a number of perspectives, including within the literature of vocational counseling, the fields of cognitive and neuropsychology, and in emerging research from social psychologists and behavioral economists. Two theory chapters utilize concepts from existential theory and Winnicott's true and selves to explore the phenomenon more deeply. A discussion chapter critiques these theories and offers suggestions for further research, as well as implementation suggestions for the clinician based on the research and theories presented.

The Danger Of Assumed Realism In Pornography : Pornography Use And Its Relationship To Sexual Consent, Hannah L. Fegley

Participants, who were 18 years and old, living in the United States, and who had viewed pornographic content online in the last 12 months, completed an online survey. School Social Workers Perceptions On Multilevel Practice : Understanding, Implementation, And Barriers To Engaement, Sarah L. Wettenstein
School Social Workers Perceptions On Multilevel Practice : Understanding, Implementation, And Barriers To Engaement, Sarah L. Wettenstein

The National Association of Social Works standards for school social workers [SSWs] urges SSWS to engage in ecologically informed practice interventions that affect both individual students and the multiple levels of the school environment. New Questions, Multiple Meanings : Exploring Attachment Theory, Self Psychology, And Anti-Oppression Perspectives On Human-Companion Animal Relationships In The Rural West, Sarah H. Winchester
Theses, Dissertations, and Projects
In spite of burgeoning interest in the significance of human-companion animal relationships in social work and related fields, the theoretical conceptualization of these relationships in the context of mental health remains largely limited to the cross-species and cross-cultural application of Attachment Theory. Further, the literature on human-companion animal relationships through the lens of Attachment Theory reflects a narrow scope of research methodologies and demographic variables, thus leaving the unique, multiple meanings of these relationships – and their intersections with varying and marginalized sociocultural identities – largely unexplored. In order to address these gaps and expand theoretical discourse on the phenomenon, …
