Facts: An appeal against the Haifa District Court's judgment dismissing the Appellants' claim against the Respondent for the infringement of its copyright in technical drawings. At trial, the Appellants argued that drawings used by the Respondent for the registration of a patent in the USA for a voltage backup system for cable systems (a product that competes with a product of the first Appellant (hereinafter referred to as "Safecom") infringe Safecom's copyright in the drawings of its products. There is no dispute that there was a previous business relationship between the Respondent and the Appellants, and the Respondent had access …

Synchronous Data Link Control Communication Chip, C. Alva Barney, Dr. Doran K. Wilde
Synchronous Data Link Control Communication Chip, C. Alva Barney, Dr. Doran K. Wilde
Journal of Undergraduate Research
In conjunction with the ORCA research grant I was able to design, layout and simulate an integrated Synchronous Data Link Control (SDLC) communication chip. SDLC communication chips are commonly used to transfer data between computers in serial bit-wise transmission. Extensions of the SDLC are used in high speed data links and satellite communication. In addition, this project was accompanied with full web documentation such that the VLSI Design Class (ECEn 451) can leverage my research and design as a class project.

Art Furniture, Report Of Creative Research Grant Results, David C. Babcock, Doug Stout
Journal of Undergraduate Research
As a senior in the Department of Visual Arts: Industrial Design program I elected to design and build a series of creative furniture pieces as a senior B.F.A. project. The Industrial Design program at B.Y.U.. is a product design program with a slight bent towards transportation design. My particular interest in furniture aspects of product design led to a self-initiated education experience. I received a great deal of help and support from: Neil Hadlock and Brian Christensen of the Visual Arts Department Sculpture Program and Kip Christensen of Industrial Education Program.
Gender Differences In Byu Communications Students’ Career Attitudes, Alexis Allen, Dr. Shane Reese
Gender Differences In Byu Communications Students’ Career Attitudes, Alexis Allen, Dr. Shane Reese
Journal of Undergraduate Research
Women have made vast advancements in the workplace within the last thirty years, but gender career issues still exist today. The field of communications presents an interesting case study about discrepancies between male and female employees’ contrasting earnings and career roles. A phenomenon called the Glass Ceiling Effect exists in the public relations field, for example. Essentially, the Glass Ceiling Effect says that although there are more women practitioners in the field, male practitioners attain management positions more frequently and earn higher salaries than their female counterparts.
The Effect Of Cytokinin And Abscisic Acid On Iron Stress Response In Tomatoes, Mark L. Bernards, Dr. Von D. Jolley
The Effect Of Cytokinin And Abscisic Acid On Iron Stress Response In Tomatoes, Mark L. Bernards, Dr. Von D. Jolley
Journal of Undergraduate Research
Iron is an essential nutrient for healthy plant growth. Dicotyledenous plants respond to insufficient iron with a variety of mechanisms. For example, they may release hydrogen ions or exude reductants (such as caffeic acid) from the roots to acidify the rhizosphere, reduce Fe 3+ to Fe 2+ through enzymes at the root surface, and accumulate organic acids (primarily citrate) in the roots (Brown, 1978). Iron-efficient tomato T3238FER responds to iron stress signals in the roots by activating these mechanisms. Iron-inefficient T3238fer does not activate these mechanisms when subjected to iron stress.

Reports
Information and Communication Technology will play a critical role in sustaining the high growth rates experienced by African economies in the last decade. Investment in the ICT sector enables the creation of high quality jobs and acts as an enabling technology for other key industries such as agriculture, mining, finance, health and education. ‘New Software Economy’ models mean international location and company scale are less relevant and enable small organisations to compete globally in niche markets. Unlike many traditional industries which have heavy infrastructure requirements, the key resource of the ICT Sector is its people and the knowledge, skills and …
