Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang 1) pemanfaatan internet, lingkungan, dan motivasi belajar; 2) pengaruh pemanfaatan internet, lingkungan dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar siswa mata pelajaran dasar kompetensi kejuruan kompetensi keahlian teknik audio video SMK Negeri se-Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah kuesioner dan tes. Teknik analisa data dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif dan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) kecenderungan pemanfaatan internet siswa terdapat pada kategori cukup; 2) lingkungan siswa terdapat pada kategori cukup; 3) motivasi belajar siswa terdapat pada kategori cukup; 4) prestasi belajar siswa terdapat pada kategori cukup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui gambaran faktor situasional, faktor psikologis, dan kinerja guru SMK di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta; (2) menemukan pengaruh faktor situasional dan faktor psikologis terhadap kinerja guru SMK di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta; (3) merumuskan hubungan kausal kepe-mimpinan kepala sekolah, budaya sekolah, imbalan, kemampuan guru, komitmen guru, motivasi kerja guru terhadap kinerja guru SMK di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model evaluasi program tutorial tatap muka. Mo-del evaluasi yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini menekankan pada evaluasi: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil program tutorial sehingga model ini disebut model evaluasi P2HT. Model evaluasi P2HT dikembangkan melalui delapan tahap: (1) kajian awal, (2) pengembangan disain, (3) pengembangan model prototype, (4) uji coba terbatas, (5) revisi, (6) uji coba diperluas, (7) model akhir, dan (8) diseminasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran teknik dasar bola voli untuk siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan sebagai berikut; (1) melakukan analisis kebutuhan, (2) mengembangkan instrumen penilaian, (3) mengembangkan dan memilih bahan materi, (4) merancang dan melakukan evaluasi formatif, dan (5) penyusunan produk akhir. Uji coba dengan skala kecil dilakukan terhadap 30 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Jetis, sedangkan uji coba skala besar sebanyak 57 siswa dengan rincian 28 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bantul dan 29 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Imogiri. We report the successful synthesis of single crystals of the layered iridate (Na1−xLix)2IrO3, 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.9, and a thorough study of its structural, magnetic, thermal, and transport properties. This compound allows a controlled interpolation between Na2IrO3 and Li2IrO3, while maintaining the quantum magnetism of the honeycomb Ir4+ planes. The measured phase diagram demonstrates a suppression of the Néel temperature TN at an intermediate x, indicating that the magnetic orders in Na2IrO3 and Li2IrO3 …

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems support solutions for standard business processes such as financial, sales, procurement and warehouse. In order to improve the understandability and efficiency of their implementation, ERP vendors have introduced reference models that describe the processes and underlying structure of an ERP system. To select and successfully implement an ERP system, the capabilities of that system have to be compared with a company’s business needs. The social and environmental pressures exerted on white-tailed deer Odocoileus virginianus in the southeastern United States are dynamic. Understanding factors that contribute to neonatal white-tailed deer mortality is vital to population management. To determine survival rates and causes of mortality, we captured and radio-monitored neonate white-tailed deer in the coastal plain of South Carolina. Using date of birth, mass, sex, age, and year as predictor variables, we created a candidate set of survival models to evaluate which factors influenced daily survival rates. We captured and monitored 210 fawns and recorded 68 total mortalities (32.3%). We recorded few mortalities in 2006 …

This study explores managerial behavioral responses associated with performance measurement system. Design of performance measurement system is investigated financial and non-financial measures related to the four perspectives of Balanced Scorecard (BSC). This paper examines whether a role conflict and procedural fairness affect the relationship between performance measure and managerial performance. Based on a sample of 67 managers of regional Bank in Pekanbaru, the results from a structural model tested using Partial Least Squares indicate a relationship between performance measurement system and managerial performance is mediated by a role of conflict. Background: Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for women in the United States. Differences in survival of breast cancer have been noted among racial and ethnic groups, but the reasons for these disparities remain unclear. This study presents the characteristics and the survival curve of two racial and ethnic groups and evaluates the effects of race on survival times by measuring the lifetime data-based half-normal model. The present invention is a method of extracting infectious pathogens from a volume of blood including the steps of creating a fibrin aggregate confining the pathogens and introducing a fibrin lysis reagent to expose the pathogens for analysis. The fibrin lysis reagent is preferably composed of plasminogen and streptokinase frozen in coincident relation until the fibrin lysis reagent is needed whereby streptokinase enzymatically reacts with plasminogen to form plasmin upon thawing. The plasminogen is suspended in an aqueous salt solution prior to freezing including NaCl and Na3PO4.

Balancing Inner And Outer Technologies: Mobile Devices And Contemplative Practice, Nicky Duenkel

Journal of Pedagogy, Pluralism, and Practice

This article briefly considers elements of an exploratory study undertaken in a small first year university class in Community Studies in which both mobile devices and contemplative practices were intentionally integrated. Incorporating these two pedagogical elements provided valuable insights, each in their own right, and together they created scaffolding for a Contemplative Inquiry Assignment in which students were encouraged to mindfully observe their patterns of engaging with social networking and mobile devices. This experiential learning helped students raise awareness and make conscious aspects of their social network patterning in ways that no reading or lecture could.

The use of direct-driven permanent magnet alternating current (AC) generators offers the opportunity to reduced costs and increased system efficiency. This type of generator could be the best alternative for rural population whom are not connected to the national grid.
