This study investigates the effect of audit quality on earnings management behavior using a variety of audit quality proxies, either using a single proxy or a joint test of some proxies of audit quality. The study proposed a new composite measure of audit quality called the Audit Quality Metric Score (AQMS), which represents the dimension of competence and independence of audit quality. The study compared the validity of the conventional and the multidimensional measurement of audit quality. Cyber operations by both state actors and non-state actors are increasing in frequency and severity. As nations struggle to defend their networks and infrastructure, their ability to apply the principles of deterrence to cyber activities correspondingly increases in importance. Cyber deterrence offers much more flexibility and increased options from traditional deterrence methodologies developed in the Cold War’s nuclear age. In addition to traditional retaliation, cyber deterrence includes options such as taking legal action; and making networks invisible, resilient, and interdependent. Post-translational modification of bacterial elongation factor P (EF-P) with (R)-β-lysine at a conserved lysine residue activates the protein in vivo and increases puromycin reactivity of the ribosome in vitro. The additional hydroxylation of EF-P at the same lysine residue by the YfcM protein has also recently been described. The roles of modified and unmodified EF-P during different steps in translation, and how this correlates to its physiological role in the cell, have recently been linked to the synthesis of polyproline stretches in proteins. There are no definite conclusions for effective treatments on foot orthosis for high arch foot. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of modified module insole on foot deformity and foot pain in high arch foot patients. This study recruited 81 adults whose arch index of ＞0.21with 37 in the orthosis group and 44 in the control group. All participants have no evidence of neurological deficits at legs, foot deformities and abnormal gait patterns. Eosinophilic fasciitis is a rare rheumatological disorder, with the clinical presentations of myalgia, symmetrical skin induration, and peripheral eosinophilia. Because of overlapping symptoms with other rheumatological disorders, early diagnosis of eosinophilic fasciitis is difficult. The confirmatory diagnosis relies on full-thickness skin biopsy. Imaging studies are also used for evaluation and diagnosis. Among them, high-resolution sonography has the advantage of high accessibility over other imaging modalities in detecting musculoskeletal disorder, but the sonographic features of eosinophilic fasciitis are rarely reported. Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) is a rare inherited disease. Up to date, there have been 14 known BBS-related mutation genes, resulting in ciliopathy with multiple abnormalities such as obesity, pigmentary retinopathy, polydactyly, learning disabilities, poor coordination, renal dysfunction, diabetes and hypertension. This case was a 29-year-old male, who was diagnosed as Bardet-Biedl syndrome since childhood and then was followed up for control of complications. He suffered from stroke at age of 29. Risks of young stroke were surveyed. Poorly controlled hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia and hyperfibrinogenemia were noted. No other examination revealed abnormality. Cerebral stroke and spinal cord infarction are rare complications after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). The coexistence of them in one case is extremely rare. Cerebral microemboli generated during CABG is connected to acute ischemic stroke. Spinal cord infarction after CABG is related to hypoperfusion of the spinal cord. Except for the cardiovascular disease, the use of cardiopulmonary bypass during or after surgery is also a risk factor for both of the complications. Surgical intervention is frequently suggested for scoliosis patients who have a Cobb's angle of more than 50 degrees and who are not responding to conservative treatment such as bracing. In addition, surgical intervention prevents further deterioration of spinal curvature, preserves cardiopulmonary function, provides cosmetic benefits, and improves quality of life for patients. Giant-cell tumor of the bone is relatively common in young adults, especially those in the third decades of life. This tumor occurs most frequently in long bones, such as the distal femur or proximal tibia, but rarely in the cervical spine. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the physiologic changes of swallowing along with normal aging, and to study the influences on swallowing of gender and food consistency.Methods: One hundred adult men and women aged 24 to 80 participated. Background/Purpose: Although neuroimage studies on English-speaking stutterers have been reported previously, there was few positron emission tomography (PET) study of brain activation in Chinese- speaking stutterers. The purpose of this study was to investigate brain activation patterns in stutterers who speak Chinese.Each subject was scanned via using a PET scanner with a [18F] deoxyglucose marker. The stutterers group received two separate PET scans, one during solo reading (stuttering condition) and the other during choral reading (fluent condition). Background: Preliminary evidence suggests that Botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) injected intraarticularly into painful joints has a significant nociceptive effect. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of intraarticular BoNT-A on the pain and physical function for patients with ankle osteoarthritis (OA).Method: A prospective study with 6 months follow-up done in a university-affiliated tertiary care medical center, patients with symptoms and radiographic evidence of ankle OA for at least 6 months were recruited. This study explores the factors correlated to the use of home-based rehabilitation services by stroke patients for whom care is provided according to the state policy pertaining to the 10-year long-term care plan.During July 2008–June 2010, data were collected from 759 stroke patients by using a long-term care management service evaluation form. These patients had initially applied for services at the long-term care centers of the Bureau of Public Health in Taichung County. Of these, 119(15.7%) eventually used home-based rehabilitation services. Background: Alendronate and teriparatide have been proved to benefit osteoporosis patients in some prospective studies. However, no data have been described about the clinical practice of these medications and their efficacy in Taiwanese people.Method: We reviewarticleed the medical records of an outpatient clinic at National Taiwan University Hospital from 2008 to 2010, and collected data on the postmenopausal women diagnosed with osteoporosis or spinal compression fracture. Baker's cysts arise from a distension of a gastrocnemio-semimembranosus bursa, which are often associated with knee pathology including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory arthropathies. Clinical presentations of Baker's cysts are posterior knee swelling, tightness, and pain. Knee joint aspiration and intra-articular corticosteroid injection can relieve symptoms. However, treating underlying diseases is more important for recurrence prevention. Cyst rupture is a complication of Baker's cysts and may induce leg swelling and pain mimicking deep vein thrombosis. The modified fingertip-to-floor method is one of the clinical measurements used to assess forward bending. The present research is based on recording the measurements obtained by lumbar extensor surface electromyography (EMG) during the modified ”fingertip-to-floor” method in order to investigate the correlation between the two approaches. Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of vibration and static stretching on shoulder strength and flexibility of volleyball athletes.Methods: Fifteen female volleyball athletes were randomly divided into 2 groups: 8 athletes who received vibration training were allocated to the vibration-stretching group and 7 athletes who did not receive vibration training comprised the static-stretching group. Spondylolysis is a common problem that may contribute to lower back pain in athletes participating in a variety of activities. We currently present a casereport describing an athlete aged 21 years who was participating in the long jump on the national stage with ranked 1 in Taiwan. A diagnosis of spondylolysis at the 5th lumbar vertebrae was made following complaints of pain in the lower back-diagnosis was confirmed using a radiology examination.
