Photoproduction Of The Φ(1020) Meson In Neutral Decay Mode Γp → Φp → K(S)K(L)P, Heghine Seraydaryan

The Φ(1020) meson photoproduction cross sections in the neutral decay mode Φ → K_SK_L are measured for the first time. This work presents measurements of differential cross sections, dσ/dt, dσ/d cos θ^Φ_c.m.; Φ decay angular distributions, W(cos θ) and W(Φ), and spin-density matrix elements, ρ⁰, in the Helicity and Gottfried-Jackson frames, in the energy range 1.6 GeV < E_γ < 2.6 GeV. We analyzed the photoproduction data of the g11a experiment collected on an LH2 target using the CLAS detectector at Hall B, TJNAF. The measured cross sections show some differences from the charged decay mode Φ → K⁺ K⁻.

New methods to assemble, integrate, and package micro devices are always needed in attempts to simplify and expedite fabrication methods to maximize throughput. Our paper focuses on assessing SU-8 as a viable material for packaging and flip chip bonding processes for MEMS and micro devices. In this paper, we vary the level of cross- linking through post exposure bake (PEB) times and assess rectangular ring test structures bonding strength following flip chip bonding through applied tensile loads. Four Constitutional Limits That The Minimum Coverage Provision Respects, Neil S. Siegel

Opponents of the minimum coverage provision in the Affordable Care Act charge that if Congress can require most people to obtain health insurance or pay a certain amount of money, then Congress can impose whatever mandates it wishes - or, at least, whatever purchase mandates it wishes. This Essay refutes that claim by identifying four limits on the Commerce Clause that the minimum coverage provision honors. Congress may not use its commerce power: (1) to regulate noneconomic subject matter; (2) to impose a regulation that violates constitutional rights, including the right to bodily integrity; (3) to regulate at all, including …

Law and economics is influential in U.S. legal scholarship, but not as much elsewhere. Different explanations have been suggested for this. In this Article, I argue that the problems faced by law and economics outside of the United States are neither particular to the field nor to the local context. I offer an interpretation based on the similarities between legal parochialism and trade protectionism. A tentative prediction is that globalization in legal markets might change the current patterns.

This Paper compares the Brazilian with the United States general procedures of judicial selection at the state and federal levels. The most significant difference between the two approaches is that in Brazil the selection at the lower level is entirely administered by the judiciary, while in the United States, judges are either approved by the executive or elected by popular vote. At the Supreme Court level, however, the Brazilian Constitution uses the same mechanism that is used in the United States, namely presidential nomination and Senate confirmation. The Uniform Law Commission (ULC) is a non-partisan, nonprofit, unincorporated association comprised of commissions formed in each state of the United States and also the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Its mission is "to promote uniformity in the law among the several States on subjects as to which uniformity is desirable and practicable." In the 117 years of its existence, the ULC has produced hundreds of uniform laws and forwarded them to the legislatures of its member jurisdictions for enactment, often with striking and sometimes with universal success. Local laws based on immigration status have prompted heated national debate on federalism and discrimination. A second strain of nuisance-related legislation has emerged in recent years, which often targets these same immigrant communities. This paper examines the hitherto-unstudied correlation between ordinances explicitly related to immigrants and legislation regarding nuisance–as illuminated through primary research into municipal legislation across the nation. Evaluating these laws and the context of their enactment, this research shows when and how nuisance laws target certain populations. Ultimately, this inquiry reveals troubling parallels to previous community responses to disfavored subgroups and the harm resulting from proxy legislation.

Background: Child health outcomes in the poor communities are largely affected by the non-availability of essential medicines at government health facilities and non-affordability of prescribed medicines at private retail pharmacies. This phenomenon largely defines health seeking behaviours and health service utilisation patterns of the families of the children.
Methods: Using observational visits, we examined the shelf-availability of medicines for children less than 5 years of age at a rural health centre and conducted focus group discussions with the mothers to explore the effects of non-availability and non-affordability of medicines. While quantum dots-in-a-well (DWELL) infrared photodetectors have the feature that their spectral responses can be shifted continuously by varying the applied bias, the width of the spectral response at any applied bias is not sufficiently narrow for use in multispectral sensing without the aid of spectral filters. To achieve higher spectral resolutions without using physical spectral filters, algorithms have been developed for post-processing the DWELL’s bias-dependent photocurrents resulting from probing an object of interest repeatedly over a wide range of applied biases. In many states, legal doctrine discourages settlement of land use litigation by requiring that any settlement undergo the same review process as the decision that led to the litigation in the first place. The problem is exacerbated by broad standing rules that allow a variety of parties to challenge the settlement. As a result, municipalities and developers often have an incentive to litigate to judgment, even though both parties would prefer a negotiated or mediated solution.

The question explored here is whether ADR processes introduced to aid in the development of rule of law to help build legitimacy with legal authorities and institutions could instead work against legitimacy or further undermine it. This article will question whether establishing a new ADR program is advisable in a country with endemic corruption that is struggling to keep, or maintain, a moderately functional legal system. The Supreme Court recently decided in Caperton v. A.T. Massey Coal Co. that substantial independent expenditures in support of a judicial candidate present threats to judicial impartiality similar to those posed by direct contributions. This Article posits that the Caperton holding, guaranteeing due process of law in state courts, presents a compelling state interest justifying the regulation of spending in judicial elections.

The purpose of this project was to evaluate the effectiveness of a practice-based dermoscopy training program for dermatology healthcare providers in order to improve their technique of performing clinical skin exams for the early detection of melanomas.

The overall incidence of melanoma continues to rise. More than 75% of all skin cancer deaths are from melanoma. Advanced melanoma spreads to lymph nodes and internal organs and can result in death. One American dies from melanoma almost every hour (American Cancer Society [ACS], 2009). Early diagnosis and excision are essential to reduce morbidity and to improve patient survival.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบสมรรถภาพทางกลไกของนักกรีฑาบุคลากร มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ระหว่างก่อนและหลังเข้ารับการฝึกตามโปรแกรมการฝึกแบบวงจร โดยการเก็บ รวบรวมข้อมูลจากการทดสอบสมรรถภาพทางกลไกก่อนและหลังเข้ารับการฝึกตามโปรแกรมการฝึก ที่ผู้วิจัยพัฒนาขึ้น โดยมีนักกีฬากรีฑาบุคลากรมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่เข้ารับการทดสอบ จำนวน ๑๐ คน ผลการวิจัยจากการเปรียบเทียบสมรรถภาพทางกลไกก่อนและหลังการฝึก สรุปได้ดังนี้ ๑) การทดสอบ แรงบีบมือ พบว่า ความแข็งแรงของกล้ามเนื้อแขนเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๑.๕๕ กิโลกรัม ๒) การทดสอบแรงเหยียดขา พบว่า ความแข็งแรงของกล้ามเนื้อขาเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๕.๓๖ กิโลกรัม ๓) การทดสอบยืนกระโดดไกล พบว่า พลังระเบิดของกล้ามเนื้อขาเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๕.๙๐ เซนติเมตร ๔) การทดสอบยืนก้มตัว พบว่า ความอ่อนตัวเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๓.๑๐ เซนติเมตร ๕) การวัดปริมาตรความจุปอด พบว่า ความจุปอดเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๓๔๕ มิลลิลิตร ๖) การทดสอบวิ่งเก็บของ ๔๐ เมตร พบว่า ความคล่องแคล่วว่องไวเพิ่มขึ้น โดยได้ ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๐.๔๑ วินาที ๗) การทดสอบวิ่งเร็ว ๕๐ เมตร พบว่า ความเร็วเพิ่มขึ้น โดยได้ ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๐.๔๓ วินาที

Over the past three years Knowledge Transfer has established a unique position in Lingnan’s teaching and research, as well as building of institutional capacity. 中國雲南山區服務研習計劃由德勤中國(香港)和嶺南大學服務研習處共同組織開展。該計劃的主要目的之一是研究山村少數民族和社區的可持續發展情況。其中包括保護本地獨特文化，在公共教育、衛生和經濟發展方面提供必要的輔助，環境保護，以及作為社區長壽基石的可持續發展。

該計劃於2007年啟動，為期三年，至2010年結束。該三年計劃旨在研究該社區在教育、衛生和經濟方面的需求，並提供必要幫助。在2008年至2009年(計劃第二年)，該計劃與嶺南大學亞太老年研究中心合作，在該村進行健康狀況研究，涵蓋該山村社區的衛生條件和初級衛生保健體系。研究通過了解雲南省格章村村民的健康狀況，深入研究中國農村的醫療衛生水平。村民健康狀況體現該村的社會人口統計特點、環境和個人風險因素、問題應對能力以及衛生保健體系的覆蓋情況。調查結果將用於評估村民的健康需求，協助政府提供更合理的醫療衛生服務，並監督健康改善的成果。

Health Impact Assessment Of Pesticide Use In Northern Thai Farmers, Ratana Sapbamrer, Arrak Damrongsat, Prajak Kongtan

The present study aims to assess health impacts on pesticide use in 136 farmers from Baan Mai Ras Bam Rung Village, San Kong Subdistrict, Dok Kham Tai District, Phayao. Questionnaire and laboratory examination were used as tools. Pesticide use in questionnaire consisted of objectives, type and reasons of pesticide use, prevention practices from exposure, etc. Health impacts questionnaire included physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. The results showed that most farmers planted rice crop and the major pesticide use was insecticides (79.4 %), followed by herbicides, fungicides, and acaricides, respectively (78.7, 40.4 and 33.1 %).
