Ecological Executive Function Training In Patient With Brain Injury: A Casereport, Hsiao-Ting Ho, Yu-Hsin Wu, Mao-Hsiung Huang, Nai-Wen Guo

Rehabilitation Practice and Science

A disorganized condition can be attributed to a failure to use a goal list. Goal management training (GMT), a neuropsychological rehabilitation program, was therefore designed for patients with poor inhibition, impaired goal- management and disorganized daily behavior. In this report, Ecological Executive Function Training (EEFT), based on the GMT model, was applied to a 55 year-old male patient with poor impulse control that was secondary to brain injury. The treatment lasted for two weeks and aimed to improve his …

Cookbooks: Preserving Jewish Tradition, Daniel Feinberg, Alice Crosetto

Library Faculty Presentations & Publications

Culinary traditions have played an integral role in the Jewish religion from its very beginning. Families have continually passed down these traditions from one generation to the next as a means to preserve Jewish culture as well as to maintain their Jewish identity. The authors propose that one of the methods of preserving and transmitting these culinary traditions, traditions clearly rooted in oral tradition, has been through the cookbook. Modern Man: Popeye As An Indicator Of Movement Toward An Industrialized South In William Faulkner’S Sanctuary, Kristen N. Arnett

Rollins Undergraduate Research Journal

Traditionally, Faulkner’s Sanctuary has been classified as a sordid tale of sexual intrigue, set against a backdrop of death and decay in a post-war Deep South. The novel’s foothold in the Southern Gothic realm of literature has been further cemented by its graphic depictions of rape, prostitution and murder. Though these outrageous plot developments set the stage for much of the action in the story, they do little to explain an important role that is traditionally much overlooked – that of the character Popeye. Faulkner’s Popeye symbolizes the insertion of an unwanted Northern modernity into a world of slow Southern …

When A Promotion Is Denied: The Effects Of Decision Stage On Perceptions Of Promotion And Price Fairness, Monika Kukar-Kinney, Lan Xia, Kent B. Monroe

Economic and Business Review

Marketers frequently use promotions to enhance sales and increase consumers’ perceptions of value. However, most promotions usually come with restrictions, such as time expiration, quantity or product model restriction, etc. In the present research, the effect of the stage in the purchase process when the consumer finds out about the restriction is investigated. The findings indicate that the later in the purchase process the consumer discovers the restriction, the greater is the perception that the effort invested into the purchase is wasted, consequently resulting in lower promotion and price fairness.
