Data Warehouse And Business Intelligence: Comparative Analysis Of Olap Tools, Mahesh Kumar Bhetwal

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)

Data Warehouse applications are designed basically to provide the business communities with accurate and consolidated information. The objective of Data Warehousing applications are not just for collecting data and reporting, but rather for analyzing, it requires technical and business expertise tools. To achieve business intelligence it requires proper tools to be selected. The most commonly used Business intelligence (BI) technologies are Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and Reporting tools for analyzing the data and to make tactical decision for the better performance of the organization, and more over to provide quick and fast access to end user request. No Accession-Specific Effect Of Rhizosphere Soil Communities On The Growth And Competition Of Arabidopsis Thaliana Accessions, Anna G. Aguilera, Adán Colón-Carmona, Rick Kesseli, Jeffrey S. Dukes Nov 2011

No Accession-Specific Effect Of Rhizosphere Soil Communities On The Growth And Competition Of Arabidopsis Thaliana Accessions, Anna G. Aguilera, Adán Colón-Carmona, Rick Kesseli, Jeffrey S. Dukes

Biology Faculty Publication Series

Soil communities associated with specific plant species affect individual plants' growth and competitive ability. Limited evidence suggests that unique soil communities can also differentially influence growth and competition at the ecotype level. Previous work with Arabidopsis thaliana has shown that accessions produce distinct and reproducible rhizosphere bacterial communities, with significant differences in both species composition and relative abundance. We tested the hypothesis that soil communities uniquely affect the growth and reproduction of the plant accessions with which they are associated. Specifically, we examined the growth of four accessions when exposed to their own soil communities and the communities generated by …

Portable Water Quality Sensor Fabrication Method, Hyoung Cho, Shekhar Halakatti, Anjum Mehta

UCF Patents

A disposable microsensor is designed, fabricated and tested for standard BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) measurements. A transparent Cyclic Olefin Copolymer COC) substrate is used for sensor fabrication. Standard lithographic procedures in addition to techniques like screen printing and electroplating are used to fabricate the sensor. A microbial strain of Trichosporon Cutaneum is immobilized over one pair of sensor electrodes while the other is used as a reference. Depending on the respiratory activities of the microbial strain in different samples, the BOD values of the samples can be measured in terms of difference between the output signals. The sensor layer is …

Classroom Community: Questions Of Apathy And Autonomy In A High School Jewelry Class, Samuel E. Steadman

Theses and Dissertations

Student motivation is investigated in this study as a means of abrogating apathy within a public high school Jewelry course. The study is an attempt to answer a personal question of whether students could be internally motivated to a level of excitement that they would take ownership for their personal learning and the learning of their classmates. The study also addresses four main points that cause apathy, or are caused by apathy, they are: zero sum competition, compassion and support for classmates, ownership of the physical facilities, and the development of a conscientious public. Through a desire to test data on …

transportation research. The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) annually invests approximately $180 million in State Planning and Research (SPR) and University Transportation Centers (UTC). This investment generates an extensive portfolio of “grey literature” that is not yet uniformly cataloged or accessible, despite the best efforts of the National Technical Information Service, the Transportation Research Board, and the National Transportation Library. This paper reports on a review of publishing and archiving practices for transportation research technical reports, summarizes best practices, and recommends that UTC and SPR research programs seek and strengthen partnerships with libraries to facilitate improved production, stewardship and …

Investigations On The Corrosion Resistance Of Metallic Bipolar Plates (Bpp) In Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (Pemfc) - Understanding Of The Effects Of Material, Coating And Manufacturing, Ender Dur

Theses and Dissertations

Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) systems are promising technology for contributing to meet the deficiency of world`s clean and sustainable energy requirements in the near future. Metallic bipolar plate (BPP) as one of the most significant components of PEMFC device accounts for the largest part of the fuel cell`s stack. Corrosion for metallic bipolar plates is a critical issue, which influences the performance and durability of PEMFC. Corrosion causes adverse impacts on the PEMFC`s performance jeopardizing commercialization. This research is aimed at determining the corrosion resistance of metallic BPPs, particularly stainless steels, used in PEMFC from different aspects. Material …

Colonoscopy Screening Rates Among Patients Of Colonoscopy-Trained African American Primary Care Physicians, Sudha Xirasagar, Thomas G. Hurley, James B. Burch, Ali Mansaray, James R. Hébert Nov 2011

Colonoscopy Screening Rates Among Patients Of Colonoscopy-Trained African American Primary Care Physicians, Sudha Xirasagar, Thomas G. Hurley, James B. Burch, Ali Mansaray, James R. Hébert

Faculty Publications

Background - When performed competently, colonoscopy screening can reduce colorectal cancer rates, especially in high-risk groups such as African Americans (AAs). Training primary care physicians (PCPs) to perform colonoscopy may improve screening rates among underserved high-risk populations.

Methods - We compared colonoscopy screening rates and computed adjusted odds ratios for colonoscopy-eligible patients of trained AA PCPs (study group) vs. untrained PCPs (comparison group), before and since initiating colonoscopy training. All colonoscopies were performed at a licensed ambulatory surgery center with specialist standby support. Retrospective chart review was conducted on 200 consecutive, established outpatients aged ≥50 years at each of 12 …

Towards Trustworthy Coordination For Web Services Business Activities, Hua Chai, Hongle Zhang, Wenbing Zhao, P. M. Melliar-Smith, L. E. Moser

Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Publications

We present a lightweight Byzantine fault tolerance (BFT) algorithm, which can be used to render the coordination of web services business activities (WS-BA) more trustworthy. The lightweight design of the BFT algorithm is the result of a comprehensive study of the threats to the WS-BA coordination services and a careful analysis of the state model of WS-BA. The lightweight BFT algorithm uses source ordering, rather than total ordering, of incoming requests to achieve Byzantine fault tolerant, state-machine replication of the WS-BA coordination services. We have implemented the lightweight BFT algorithm, and incorporated it into the open-source Kandula framework, which implements …
