La Construcción De Una Po(Ética): Desterritorialización, Colectivización Y Politización En El Discurso Daltoniano, Juana M. Ramos
La Construcción De Una Po(Ética): Desterritorialización, Colectivización Y Politización En El Discurso Daltoniano, Juana M. Ramos
Revista Surco Sur

Princesas, Un Filme De Fernando León De Aranoa, Elvira Siurana
Princesas, Un Filme De Fernando León De Aranoa, Elvira Siurana
Revista Surco Sur

Cruzando Fronteras: La Literatura Transnacional De Roberto Bolaño, Alicia Mercado-Harvey
Cruzando Fronteras: La Literatura Transnacional De Roberto Bolaño, Alicia Mercado-Harvey
Revista Surco Sur

Covid-19: Threat Or Opportunity For Online Education?, Dimitrios Vlachopoulos
Higher Learning Research Communications
The outbreak of the COVID-19 began in the Wuhan region of China in December 2019. By February 2020, cases of COVID-19 had been detected on every continent. Governments are advising citizens to be prepared for an outbreak in their community. Today, we are globally experiencing closures in schools and universities, postponements or even cancellations of conferences and other organised events, and social distancing. In addition, we have also seen the promotion of flexible ways of studying and working to hinder the rapid spread of the virus. This position paper aims to reflect on where exactly does online education figure into …
Pedagogy In Vietnamese International Schools, Robert Wilson
Pedagogy In Vietnamese International Schools, Robert Wilson
Theses and Dissertations
This thesis is a look at the evolutionary journey of applying dramatic pedagogy in a foreign land. It does not by any means specifically pertain to theatrical elements, but everything herein is a direct reflection on the training I received as a theatre practitioner. The last four years have also molded and defined what it means to be an American theatre student living, experiencing, and working in a land that is in many senses in infancy as a nation.

Perinatal Palliative Care: Assessment Of Practice Barriers, Clinician Perspectives And Confidence, Charlotte Wool
Perinatal Palliative Care: Assessment Of Practice Barriers, Clinician Perspectives And Confidence, Charlotte Wool
Nursing Theses and Dissertations
Perinatal palliative care (PPC) is an emerging model of care that provides supportive services to families anticipating fetal or neonatal demise. Clinician reported practice barriers, their perspectives of PPC and confidence in caring for patients requiring PPC are unknown. The aim of this research is to fill a gap in understanding clinician perspectives, perceived practice barriers and reported confidence to providing PPC. A cross sectional survey design using the Perinatal Palliative Care Perceptions and Barriers Scale© was administered using a Web-based tool. Recruitment was completed via email invitation and list serves. Participants included physicians (n = 66) and advance practice …

Catching A Cold: A Look At The Expected Contagion Effect Of Neighboring Income Inequality, Jared Dellinger
Catching A Cold: A Look At The Expected Contagion Effect Of Neighboring Income Inequality, Jared Dellinger
Master's Theses - Economics
Previous literature relative to income inequality has made available a number of demographic, economic, and policy determinants. This paper, using growth transmission literature as a basis for analysis, develops an argument showing that these results are biased and unreliable due to an omitted variable bias and a model misspecification. The model developed in this paper corrects for the bias by including a missing spatial factor that accounts for a contagion effect experienced by neighboring states. Income inequality is shown to be transmissible through multiple channels and may therefore be combatted only through a concerted group effort, rather than through individual …

Creating And Hosting Student-Run Research Journals: A Case Study, Adrian K. Ho
Western Libraries Publications
This case study aims to examine an academic library’s roles in facilitating the creation and hosting of open access student-run research journals. In addition to providing an online platform to host the journals, the library acquaints students with scholarly publishing, assists them in securing various resources available on campus, and offers support for content management. There are challenges and opportunities for the library as it undertakes the responsibility of hosting student journals. The article concludes with a discussion of possible topics for future research.

Aerosol-Assisted Synthesis Of Monodisperse Single-Crystalline Α-Cristobalite Nanospheres, Xingmao Jiang, Lihong Bao, Yung-Sung Cheng, Darren R. Dunphy, Xiaodong Li, C. Jeffrey Brinker
Faculty Publications
Monodisperse single-crystalline α-cristobalite nanospheres have been synthesized by hydrocarbon-pyrolysis-induced carbon deposition on amorphous silica aerosol nanoparticles, devitrification of the coated silica at high temperature, and subsequent carbon removal by oxidation. The nanosphere size can be well controlled by tuning the size of the colloidal silica precursor. Uniform, high-purity nanocrystalline α-cristobalite is important for catalysis, nanocomposites, advanced polishing, and understanding silica nanotoxicology.

The Murine Caecal Microrna Signature Depends On The Presence Of The Endogenous Microbiota, Natasha Singh, Elize A. Shirdel, Levi Waldron, Regan-Heng Zhang, Igor Jurisica, Elena M. Comelli
Publications and Research
The intestinal messenger RNA expression signature is affected by the presence and compo-sition of the endogenous microbiota, with effects on host physiology. The intestine is also characterized by a distinctive micronome. However, it is not known if microbes also impact intestinal gene expression epigenetically. We investigated if the murine caecal microRNA expression signature depends on the presence of the microbiota, and the potential implica-tions of this interaction on intestinal barrier function. Three hundred and thirty four mi-croRNAs were detectable in the caecum of germ-free and conventional male mice and 16 were differentially expressed, with samples from the two groups clustering …
