Penurunan Noise Figure Performance (Fn) Pada Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor Si/Si 1-X Gex Berdasarkan Pengaturan Stripe Emitter Area (Ae) Dan Fraction Mole (X), Tossin Alamsyah, Djoko Hartanto, N. R. Puspawati

Makara Journal of Science

Reduction of Noise Figure (Fn) on Bipolar Heterojunction Si/Si1-x Gex based on Arrangements Stripe Emitter Area (Ae) and Mole Fraction (x). This paper investigates the influence of stripe emitter area (Ae) and fraction mole (x) concerning about noise figure performance (FN) at HBT SiGe. It takes the second generation of HBT SiGe IBM with Ae; 0.18 x 10 μm2 developed as its model. When the alterations of Ae are from 0.18 x 10 μm2 , 0.12 x 10 μm2 and 0.09 x 10 μm2 , at the same time the fraction mole (x) is raised twice, it makes positive relation …

Computation Of Natural Convection In A Porous Parallelogrammic Enclosure With A Magnetic Field, Habibis Saleh, Sri Basriati, Ishak Hashim Nov 2010

Computation Of Natural Convection In A Porous Parallelogrammic Enclosure With A Magnetic Field, Habibis Saleh, Sri Basriati, Ishak Hashim

Makara Journal of Science

Detailed numerical calculations are presented in this paper for natural convection in a porous parallelogrammic enclosure with a magnetic field. The inclined walls are maintained isothermally at different temperatures. The top and bottom horizontal straight walls are kept adiabatic. To simplify the effort in matching the grid mesh with the inclined walls of the parallelogrammic region/geometry, the computational domain is mapped onto a rectangular shape using a non-linear axis transformation. Transport equations are modeled by a stream-vorticity formulation then expressed in the new coordinate system and solved numerically by a finite difference method. Based upon the numerical predictions, we found …

Ideal Maksimal Dan Prima Dari Gelanggang Polinom Miring Atas Daerah Bilangan Bulat Gauss, Amir Kamal Amir

Makara Journal of Science

Maximal and Prime Ideals of Skew Polynomial Ring Over the Gauss Integers Domain. Let R be any ring with identity 1, σ be an automorphism of R and δ be a left σ-derivation. The skew polynomial ring over R in an indeterminate x is the set of polynomials anx n + an-1x n-1 + . . . + a0 where ai∈ R with multiplication rule xa = σ (a) x + δ(a) for all ai∈ R. In this paper, R is Gauss integers, i.e Z + Zi, where i 2 = -1, σ is the automorphism of R with σ(a …

Integrating The Promotion Of Physical Activity Within A Smoking Cessation Programme: Findings From Collaborative Action Research In Uk Stop Smoking Services., Adrian H. Taylor, Emma S. Everson-Hock, Michael Ussher

Peninsula Medical School

BACKGROUND: Within the framework of collaborative action research, the aim was to explore the feasibility of developing and embedding physical activity promotion as a smoking cessation aid within UK 6/7-week National Health Service (NHS) Stop Smoking Services. METHODS: In Phase 1 three initial cycles of collaborative action research (observation, reflection, planning, implementation and re-evaluation), in an urban Stop Smoking Service, led to the development of an integrated intervention in which physical activity was promoted as a cessation aid, with the support of a theoretically based self-help guide, and self monitoring using pedometers. In Phase 2 advisors underwent training and offered …

The Anchor, Volume 124.10: November 24, 2010, Hope College

The Anchor: 2010

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Hospitality And Destination Marketing's Role In Medical Tourism: A Call For Research, Dan Cormany Nov 2010

Hospitality And Destination Marketing's Role In Medical Tourism: A Call For Research, Dan Cormany

Faculty Publications

Like business travel, where the primary focus is on business and travel is the simply the conduit by which it is performed, medical tourism is a growing trend in which individuals journey to foreign countries primarily to secure specific medical procedures or health benefits. The medical tourist is a newly defined segment of the travel industry, and while still small in numbers, is growing rapidly. This paper seeks to identify research questions related to the hospitality elements that contribute to the medical tourism experience. The answers to these may aid hoteliers, tourism operations, and visitor bureaus better understand, service and …

Calcium Regulates Vesicle Replenishment At The Cone Ribbon Synapse., Norbert Babai, Theodore M. Bartoletti, Wallace B. Thoreson Nov 2010

Calcium Regulates Vesicle Replenishment At The Cone Ribbon Synapse., Norbert Babai, Theodore M. Bartoletti, Wallace B. Thoreson

Journal Articles: Ophthalmology

Cones release glutamate-filled vesicles continuously in darkness, and changing illumination modulates this release. Because sustained release in darkness is governed by vesicle replenishment rates, we analyzed how cone membrane potential regulates replenishment. Synaptic release from cones was measured by recording postsynaptic currents in Ambystoma tigrinum horizontal or OFF bipolar cells evoked by depolarization of simultaneously voltage-clamped cones. We measured replenishment after attaining a steady state between vesicle release and replenishment using trains of test pulses. Increasing Ca(2+) currents (I(Ca)) by changing the test step from -30 to -10 mV increased replenishment. Lengthening -30 mV test pulses to match the Ca(2+) …
