This article sails into the largely unchartered waters of reverse-morals clauses because, to our knowledge, there are no law review or law journal articles that substantially address this still nascent area of law.25 Similarly, our research has not revealed any state or federal cases involving reverse-morals clauses.26 Nor has an actual talent contract containing such a clause been publicly revealed, either in terms of language or the identification of the parties to such a clause,27 although reportedly "an increasingly larger number" of talent are now asking for reverse-morals clauses in the wake of the Enron fallout and …

A Qualitative Analysis Of Motivation Of Elite Female Triathletes, Alexis Smith
A Qualitative Analysis Of Motivation Of Elite Female Triathletes, Alexis Smith
Master's Theses
The multidimensional theoretical framework of Self-Determination
Theory (SDT) has gained prominence in the sport and exercise field to assist in
understanding human motivation. While there is extensive research on motivation
of recreational athletes, no study has qualitatively examined the motivation of elite
female triathletes. The primary purpose of this research was to determine how
motivation to train and compete is maintained at the elite level using the Basic
Needs Theory. The participants were eight elite female triathletes who competed
in International Triathlon Union (ITU) draft-legal Olympic distance, Half-
Ironman, and Ironman triathlons. Results from the semi-structured interviews
revealed that challenges, …

The Application Of Margin In Life Theory In Regard To Attrition And Remediation Among Emergency Medicine Residents, Colleen J. Kalynych
The Application Of Margin In Life Theory In Regard To Attrition And Remediation Among Emergency Medicine Residents, Colleen J. Kalynych
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Medical residency is a time of high stress, long hours, high case loads, fatigue, and lack of free time. Burnout rates among residents have been reported to be between 25-76%. Scant literature exists in regard to resident stress and its impact on learning and attrition during residency. The theory of margin posits that a healthy margin is necessary for adults to learn. Healthy margin exists when a person’s ratio of burdens over resources creates a surplus of energy. This study sought to determine if there was a difference between emergency medicine (EM) residents’ margin in life scores and remediation, at …

I Was Banging My Head Against A Brick Wall: Exclusionary Power And The Gendering Of Sport Organizations, Ruth Sibson
Research outputs pre 2011
The under-representation of women in sport management has increasingly been recognized by government and nongovernment organizations, and there has been some attempt to redress the imbalance. Research has indicated, however, that the gendering of sport organizations is not simply a numbers' game. The purpose of this study was to analyze the exercise of exclusionary power as an aspect of gender relations within a six member volunteer Board of Directors of an Australian local, grass-roots sport organization. Data were gathered using semistructured interviews, participant observation and documentary evidence over a 15-month period. This study identified that, although numerical under-representation of men …

Collegiate Basketball Season-Ticket Holders’ Purchasing Motivation And Interests, Steve Shih-Chia Chen, Jennifer Mark
AMTP Proceedings 2010
This study examined the ticket purchasing motivation and interests of 334 season-ticket holders (199 males, 135 females) from two NCAA Division-I regional state institutions. The participants’ purchasing motivation and interests were surveyed onsite in the 2008-9 season by utilizing a12-item self-created instrument with a high level of internal reliability. The results indicated that the participants’ ticket purchasing motivation was mainly influenced by the competition and psycho-social related factor (CPR) and price and promotion (P&P) factor. The researchers further addressed the unique aspects in promoting regional Division-I basketball programs, and limitations and directions for future studies.
