The software market is growing rapidly for children from infant to preschool age, with programs for children under five representing the fastest-growing educational softwarea area (Morrison 2007). The Internet provides access to a great collection of resources available for young children and teachers. The following pages may be of interest to educators of young children. There are web sites included for software and articles of interest related to issues concerning technology and young children selected by all authors of our book.

In this thesis I argue that verbs in embedded clauses are temporally interpreted by being bound to the temporal arguments of AspP and VP in the matrix clause. I build up this claim by proposing that (i) Reichenbach’s relation of association can be expressed in terms of Binding Theory in the syntax, (ii) Tense is subject to different binding principles depending on its syntactic realization so that T in main clauses must be free (i.e., subject to Principle B) but in embedded clauses T must be bound (i.e., subject to Principle A), (iii) the Spanish present subjunctive is a tenseless …

Elderly individuals have a predisposition to experiencing sleep disorder, yet many remain untreated. Consequences of untreated sleep disturbance may result in decreased cognitive functioning, lowered perceived quality of life, and loss of independence. A literature review describes the definition of sleep, consequences of sleep disorder, sleep disturbance in the elderly population, intervention efficacy, principles of gerogogy, and the role of occupational therapy in sleep intervention.

The authors have created a cultural competency guide on the history, culture, and beliefs of the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribes as well as an overview of current health concerns and resulting health disparities. The creation of the guide is necessary in order to provide information about these cultures to occupational therapists (OT) working with them. However, there is considerable lack of resources for discussing cultural competency regarding these tribes in relation to occupational therapy.

In multihop wireless networks, end-to-end throughput is often hard to predict and is even harder to optimize due to the effect of interference. to date there is no precise result other than asymptotic bounds for this question: if there is no routing information given, what is the maximum throughput of a network using uncoordinated transmission such as IEEE 802.11 MAC? Mr. Custer considers the use of "literary warrant" as it affects the usefulness of the West Digest System, and reports on the results of a survey he conducted with both legal practitioners and law faculty. He concludes that the West Digest System has some viability, but it will need to extend its literary warrant to remain a player in today's legal culture.

The American Pain Foundation reported in 2006 that 32% of military men and women with chronic pain reported that military culture is a barrier to pain care and receiving pain care jeopardized their career. Pain management required a series of understandings about pain in the military that motivated enlisted women's pain perceptions, pain behaviors, and pain relief strategies. The seen and unseen factors were ever-present in military life and contributed to the chronic pain experiences of enlisted women but to what degree was largely unknown. This ethnographic approach produced brief illustrations of pain beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that enlisted women …
