Notes On The True Bug (Heteroptera) Fauna Of Azerbaijan Province, Iran, Mohammad Ali Gharaat, Mohammad Hassanzadeh, Mohammad Hasan Safaralizadeh, Majid Fallahzadeh

The Heteroptera fauna in east Azerbaijan and west Azerbaijan provinces in northwestern Iran was surveyed during 2005-2006. In all, 73 species from 18 families were collected and identified, of which 1 species, Mozena lunata (Burmeister, 1835) (Coreidae), is a new record for the Palearctic ecozone and 6 species are newly recorded from Iran.

Faunistic Studies On Some Genera Of The Subfamily Ceutorhynchinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) From The Central Anatolian And The Mediterranean Regions Of Turkey, Osman Sert

Turkish Journal of Zoology

Twenty-nine species belonging to 17 genera of the subfamily Ceutorhynchinae are reported from the Central Anatolian and the Mediterranean regions of Turkey. Detailed distributions of these species in these 2 regions are given. Seventeen species are newly recorded from central Anatolia and 10 from the Mediterranean region. Datonychus urticae (Boheman, 1845) is a new record for Turkey.

We present an approach to object detection and recognition in a digital image using a classification method that is based on the application of a set of features that include fractal parameters such as the Lacunarity and Fractal Dimension. The principal issues associated with object recognition are presented and a self-learning procedure for designing a decision making engine using fuzzy logic and membership function theory considered. Low-income Caucasian married parents described lifespan processes and conditions that contributed to their individual assessments that their marriage was healthy. Spouses participated in an interview together, followed later by an individual interview with each. Interview scripts referenced the study‘s primary research questions which sought their reflections on (a) external conditions that they considered to be important to their development, and (b) personal thoughts, emotions and behaviors they deemed relevant to the success of their marriage. A third research question called for integration of participants‘ reflections into a cogent grounded theory regarding successful low-income marriages. Each year cardiovascular disease causes over 4.3 million deaths in Europe and is the cause of nearly one in three deaths in the US. Nitric oxide (NO) is a toxic atmospheric gas which exists in tissues as a biological product of mammalian cells. It has been used to manage cardiovascular disease for over a century and to this day remains an important treatment option in cardiovascular medicine. Progesterone is an ovarian steroid hormone which plays a very important part in the regulation of pregnancy-related changes. Progesterone functions by binding to its specific nuclear receptor, PR, which regulates defined genes in a ligand dependent manner. The aim of my thesis is to explore and elucidate some of the important mediators of progesterone action with regards to pregnancy-related mammary gland development and also uterine development. On January 26, 2009, the nation's second set of live-born octuplets was delivered. The public fascination with this event quickly turned ugly when the media revealed that the mother was thirty-three year-old Nadya Suleman, who is single, unemployed, and already caring for six children under the age of eight.

The cultural backlash against Suleman has focused on three separate issues. The first revolves around Suleman herself, and her ability as a single, unemployed mother to parent fourteen young children successfully. Histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDIs) have found a wide variety of medicinal uses and are most noted for their specific apoptotic action towards cancer cells. Several hydroxamate HDIs have since been moved on to phase 1 and 2 clinical drug trials, with one having already been approved for treatment of advanced cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Trichostatin A is one of the most potent known naturally-occurring inhibitors of histone deacetylase. The process of wastewater treatment includes the removal of inorganic solids such as sand and gravel as well as organic materials, phosphorus, and nitrogen. Activated sludge, containing a variety of living organisms, is added into the wastewater treatment system. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), an energy source of the bioorganisms, are produced during activated sludge digestion, and play a significant role in phosphorus and nitrogen removal as well as the removal of organic materials during the process of wastewater treatment. Introduction: Cold plasma, also known as Low Temperature Atmospheric Pressure Plasma (LTAPP) is a novel technology consisting of neutral and charged particles, including free radicals, which can be used to destroy or inactivate microorganisms. Research has been conducted regarding the effect of cold plasma on gram-positive bacteria; however, there is limited research regarding its ability to inactivate the spore-formers Geobacillus stearothermophilus and Bacillus cereus.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine if cold plasma inactivates G. stearothermophilus and B. cereus vegetative cells and spores.
