Shi’Ite Iran’S Genocidal Jew Hatred, Andrew G. Bostom
The Islamic Republic of Iran: Multidisciplinary Analyses of its Theocracy, Nationalism, and Assertion of Power
During July 2008, Professors Moshe Sharon and Benny Morris both opined solemnly about an inevitable Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. These two respected Israeli academicians, despite holding very disparate political views, also concurred on the moral justification for such pre-emptive action - the genocidal threat to Israel posed by a Shi'ite Iranian regime gripped with an apocalyptic, Jew-hating fervor.

Elementary School Assistant Principals‟ Decision Making Analyzed Through Four Ethical Frameworks Of Justice, Critique, Care, And The Profession, Brenda Troy
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
This study examined the conceptual framework of ethical reasoning of public elementary school assistant principals during decision-making. An ethical framework not only provides a descriptive way of thinking during ethical decision-making, but also provides a rationale for decisions. The purpose of this study was to determine which ethical reasoning framework, including the ethics of justice, critique, care, and the profession, elementary school assistant principals' use during decision-making. Additionally, the study determined other resources assistant principals' consult during decision-making.
This study incorporated descriptive survey research through purposeful sampling with specific participant criteria. A researcher-developed survey of hypothetical dilemmas was deployed electronically …

Mathematics Education: The Voice Of African American And White Adolescents, Sharondrea R. King
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Several studies have provided evidence regarding factors that contribute to the mathematics achievement gap between African American and White students. Byrnes (2003) found that 45%-50% of the difference in White and African American students' performance in mathematics was associated with socioeconomic status, exposure to learning opportunities, and motivational aspects of math while 4.5% was explained by ethnicity. The goal in this mixed method study was to examine the mathematics attitude of African American (n = 22) and White (n = 10) high school students and to allow students to voice what practices and supports they perceived enabled them to learn …

The Role Of Cocrystals In Solid-State Synthesis Of Imides And The Development Of Novel Crystalline Forms Of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Miranda L. Cheney
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
With a greater understanding of the fundamentals of crystal engineering lays the
potential for the development of a vast array of novel materials for a plethora of
applications. Addressed herein is the latent potential of the current knowledge base with
an emphasis upon cocrystallization and the desire for scientific exploration that will lead
to the development of a future generation of novel cocrystals. The focus of this
dissertation is to expand the cocrystallization knowledge base in two directions with the
utilization of cocrystals in the novel synthetic technique of cocrystal controlled solid-state
synthesis and in the development of active pharmaceutical …
Tracing Anthropogenic Wastes: Detection Of Fluorescent Optical Brighteners In A Gradient Of Natural Organic Matter Fluorescence, Laura Kellie Dixon
Tracing Anthropogenic Wastes: Detection Of Fluorescent Optical Brighteners In A Gradient Of Natural Organic Matter Fluorescence, Laura Kellie Dixon
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
A dual wavelength method was developed for the field detection of optical brighteners
(OBs), fluorescent laundry additives used as indicators of anthropogenic wastes. The
method was quantitative for OBs under variable levels of fluorescent colored dissolved
organic matter (CDOM). Based on excitation at 300-400 nm and 440 and 550 nm
emission, the method assumed a constant ratio of fluorescence due to CDOM alone, even
if absolute amplitude varied. Concentrations of OBs were computed as the difference
between the observed 440 nm emission and the expected CDOM fluorescence at 440 nm,
as extrapolated from the 550 nm fluorescence and established CDOM …

Negotiations, Sanctions, And Iranian Politics, Patrick Clawson
The Islamic Republic of Iran: Multidisciplinary Analyses of its Theocracy, Nationalism, and Assertion of Power
On an issue as complex as that of the Iranian nuclear program, analysts have an obligation to firmly uphold the importance of first principles, not just the latest twists and turns which so dominate the news and can distract policymakers. Three such principles are: by what yardsticks can diplomacy's progress be judged? what would constitute success for sanctions? and what are the key concerns of the Iranian side in the negotiations?

The Relationship Between Teacher Efficacy And Multiple Learning Competencies With Arts And Non-Arts Educators, Lavinia Hallowell Draper
Graduate Student Dissertations, Theses, Capstones, and Portfolios
The National Commission on Excellence in Education (1983) published A Nation at Risk to relay the academic performance level of American students. The results revealed that Americans students were performing considerably below other countries. Consequently, accountability through testing became the focus for policy makers to promote educational reform and educational equality (Linn, 2000). The focus on testing, however, has hindered student achievement and led to more (a) social promotion; (b) remedial courses; (c) retention rates; (d) teachers leaving the field; (e) dropout rates; and (f) invalid achievement results (Hoffinan, 2001).
As more schools have reassigned staff members to meet the …

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)
The problem at hand is the increased amount of vulnerabilities and security hazards for individuals engaging in e-commerce, business transactions over the World Wide Web. Since the majority of people aren't paying their bills by mailing in their payment to the vendor, they pay for the items they purchase online, which makes them open to hackers and social engineering attacks. They place their credit card/debit card numbers, their phone number and home address, and even their birth date information on company websites. All these security vulnerabilities make the risk of identity theft increasingly high. Identity theft is when an individual's …

Strengthening A Global Perspective On Andragogy: An Update For 2009, John Henschke
Adult Education Faculty Works
Andragogy has received mixed reviews in the past. Some have analyzed it from a positive perspective. Some have analyzed if from a negative perspective, and some have ignored it altogether. Most of the discussions have limited their observations to how Malcolm S. Knowles addressed andragogy. There has been as inadequate investigation of the foundation and background of andragogy from a world perspective. This research presents 290 major works published in English from national and international sources on andragogy that may help provide a clear and understandable international foundation for the linkage between the research, theory, and practice of andragogy. Six …
