Ecad To Mcad Interoperability For Automated Enclosure Design, Adam C. Wilcox Nov 2008

Ecad To Mcad Interoperability For Automated Enclosure Design, Adam C. Wilcox

Theses and Dissertations

Enclosure design is the process of creating a package that will support and protect enclosed circuitry. Electronic enclosures are used in almost all industries, such as aerospace, automotive, naval, computer, toy, etc. Many designers use computer aided design (CAD) packages to aid them in creating these enclosures. Enclosure creation involves a working knowledge of the physics behind electrical and mechanical systems. Each of these engineering disciplines has separate CAD packages with their own set of rules, programming language, and interfaces. This creates a barrier for communication flow between electrical CAD (ECAD) and mechanical CAD (MCAD). The purpose of this thesis …

An Exploration Of The Effects Of A Practicum-Based Mathematics Methods Course On The Beliefs Of Elementary Preservice Teachers, Damon L. Bahr, Eula Ewing Monroe

Faculty Publications

Effects of a practicum-based elementary mathematics methods course on the beliefs of preservice teachers regarding conceptual knowledge in school mathematics were explored using a pre-post design. The intensity of those beliefs was assessed before and after the methods course using the IMAP Web-Based Beliefs Survey, an instrument constructed by the "Integrating Mathematics and Pedagogy" (IMAP) research group at San Diego State University. IMAP Beliefs Survey assesses belief intensity by asking respondents to react to and analyze written and video cases (Ambrose, Clement, Philipp, & Chauvot, 2004; Philipp, Ambrose, Clement, Sowder, Schappelle, Sowder Chauvot, & Thanheiser, 2005). The Evolution Of Property Rights: A Synthetic Overview, James E. Krier Nov 2008

The Evolution Of Property Rights: A Synthetic Overview, James E. Krier

Law & Economics Working Papers Archive: 2003-2009

In this paper I review, extend, and critique two contrasting approaches to the evolution of property rights. The legal literature on the subject is dominated by a conventional approach, which holds a virtual monopoly despite its many shortcomings, and the literature neglects an alternative approach, despite its many virtues (including, but not limited to, the virtue of responding to many of the conventional approach’s deficiencies). The paper provides an overview of both approaches, including a brief intellectual history of each – and should thus inform readers without specialized knowledge of the subject but nevertheless interested in it – and aims …
