Many professional organizations have initiatives to increase the awareness and use of informatics in the practice of pharmacy. Within education we must respond to these initiatives and make technology integral to all aspects of the curriculum, inculcating in students the importance of technology in practice. This document proposes 5 central domains for organizing planning related to informatics and technology within pharmacy education. HIV-1 transcription is essential for the virus replication cycle. HIV-1 Tat is a viral transactivator that strongly stimulates the processivity of RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) via recruitment of the cyclin T1/CDK9 positive transcription elongation factor, which phosphorylates the C-terminal domain (CTD) of RNAPII. Consistently, HIV-1 replication in transformed cells is very sensitive to direct CDK9 inhibition. Thus, CDK9 could be a potential target for anti-HIV-1 therapy. A clearer understanding of the requirements for CDK9 activity in primary human T cells is needed to assess whether the CDK9-dependent step in HIV-1 transcription can be targeted clinically. This article presents a research study developed in a Primary School (3 to 12 years) in the county of Murcia (South east of Spain). The study’s aim was to establish the educational response carried out with learners with special education needs in the school. The theoretical framework reviews the course of school integration in Spain and establishes the need to work from a curricular model. The results of this study, which follows the qualitative analysis model by Doyle (1979, 1986, 1987), show the organization structures and tasks that promote participation and integration of students with special education needs in mainstream …

FAMILY AFFAIRS was a free, twice-a-month, social activities newsletter for the GLBTQI (gay/lesbian/bisexual/trans/queer/intersex) community, sent out around the 1st and 15th of each month. It covered the State of Maine only. The list was begun and maintained for many years by Jean Vermette in Bangor, and later operated by Zack Paakkonen of Portland. Over the years it evolved from a social activities newsletter into a business directory, classified ad service, and community bulletin board.

The shipboard power system supplies energy to sophisticated systems for weapons, communications, navigation, and operation. After a fault is encountered, reconfiguration of a shipboard power system becomes a critical activity that is required to either restore service to a lost load or to meet some operational requirements of the ship. Video coding systems based on 3D wavelet transforms offer several advantages over traditional hybrid video coders. This thesis proposes two 3D wavelet-based video-coding approaches. In the first approach, motion compensation with redundant-wavelet multihypothesis, in which multiple predictions that are diverse in transform phase contribute to a single motion estimate, is deployed into the fully scalable MC-EZBC video coder. The bidirectional motion-compensated temporaliltering process of MC-EZBC is adapted to the redundant-wavelet domain, wherein transform redundancy is exploited to generate a phase-diverse multihypothesis prediction of the true temporal filtering. A multielement brief experimental analysis was used to improve and extend previous research to compare the impact of listening while reading while following along (LWFA) and listening while reading while not following along (LWNFA) interventions on oral reading comprehension rate (ORCR), reading comprehension levels, and reading fluency in students with reading disabilities. The collected data for each of the eight middle school and junior high special education students who were participants in this study included: (a) words read correct per minute (WPM), (b) errors per minute (EPM), (c) comprehension questions answered correct per passage, and (d) ORCR. This investigation focuses on the effects of hurricane Katrina on the structure, performance, capacity, and future of the lumber industry in the impacted area. The basis of the examination is a survey of both hardwood and softwood lumber mills in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. Total response rate was 42.4%. Results support the hypothesis that the storm did have a significant and negative effect on the commerce of responding facilities. A Network Interface Card (NIC) is used for receiving the packets, processing the packets, passing the packets to the host processor, and sending the packets to other computers in a network. NIC uses the buffer management algorithm to distribute the buffer space among different applications. An application may use User Datagram Protocol (UDP) or Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), depending upon the type of application. This thesis compares the performance of heterogeneous and homogenous swarms. Swarms are defined as particles or agents which react to their environment and fellow particles or agents according to social rules. The weights of three attributes of an individual agent were varied for these experiments: Collision Avoidance with individual agents in the swarm, Center of Mass of the swarm and the parameter that controls Velocity Matching in the swarm. In today's competitive business world, companies face the crucial task of delivering goods on time. In order to benefit from high volumes, distributors (suppliers) try to consolidate deliveries while maintaining a high percentage of on time delivery. Increasing delivery frequencies typically increases suppliers' performance, but it also increases the transportation costs. Finding a suitable middle ground is a challenge confronting many companies throughout various supply chains. This dissertation is a study about the coordination of inventory and transportation decisions in a two-stage supply chain.

A simplified model is developed to predict the heat and mass transfer between air and fallingilm liquid desiccant during dehumidification in a parallel-plate absorber. Compared to the second-order partial differential equations that describe fluid motion, first-order, non-coupled, ordinary differential equations are used to estimate the heat and mass transferred and explicit equations are derived from conservation principles to determine the exiting conditions of the absorber for different flow arrangements. The model uses a control volume approach that accounts for the change in desiccant film thickness and property values. The model agreed with a more complicated parallel flow model in literature. …
