Faculty Publications
Significant investments in time, money, and effort go into developing and applying technology to improve teaching and learning. As universities pursue such projects, they must determine the impact and value of technology for student learning. During the past decade, funds spent on technology for educational purposes have tripled throughout the United States. Determining a hard return on investment (ROI) for the time and money spent to improve education is difficult, however. Institutions should also measure the value on investment (VOI) that their funds and efforts yield. In the study of faculty and their technology projects at Brigham Young University (BYU) …

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS-COC) serves as the regional accrediting body for postsecondary academic institutions in the southeastern United States. Regionally accredited institutions generally recognize course work, academic programs, and transfer credits from other similarly accredited colleges and universities. Beginning with its inception as the first branch campus of the University of South Florida (USF) in July 1965, the University of South Florida St. Petersburg’s academic programs received full recognition under the umbrella of the colleges and academic divisions of the USF Tampa campus. Understanding Barriers For Adherence To Follow-Up Care For Abnormal Pap Tests, Katherine S. Eggleston, Ann L. Coker, Irene Prabhu Das, Suzanne T. Cordray, Kathryn J. Luchok

Objective: Approximately 4000 women annually will die from preventable and treatable cervical cancer. Failure to adhere to follow-up recommendations after an abnormal Pap test can lead to development of cervical cancer. This paper summarizes the body of literature on adherence to follow-up after an abnormal Pap test in order to facilitate development of interventions
to decrease morbidity and mortality due to cervical cancer.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search of published literature addressing risk factors for adherence or interventions to improve adherence following an abnormal Pap test as the outcome. We included peer-reviewed original research conducted in the …
