Low-Voltage Analog Cmos Architectures And Design Methods, Kent Downing Layton
Low-Voltage Analog Cmos Architectures And Design Methods, Kent Downing Layton
Theses and Dissertations
This dissertation develops design methods and architectures which allow analog circuits to operate at VT + 2Vds,sat, the minimum supply for CMOS circuits with all transistors in the active region where Vds,sat is the drain to source saturation voltage of a MOS transistor. Techniques which meet this criteria for rail-to-rail input stages, gain enhancement stages, and output stages are discussed and developed. These techniques are used to design four fully-differential rail-to-rail amplifiers. The highest gain is shown to be attained using a drain voltage equalization (DVE) or active-bootstrapping technique which produces more than 100dB of gain in a two stage …

"Either You Conquer It, Or It Conquers You": An Applied Anthropological Approach To Veterans With A Spinal Cord Injury, Sherman Chow
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Veterans with a spinal cord injury (SCI) engage in a complex and, often times, difficult dialogue within and through interactions in American society. That is, American society holds dear certain traditional values (ideals, beliefs, and customs) that promote the steady functioning and fabric of society. Through the process of enculturation and acculturation, likely, the majority of American citizens have already internalized many of these values. These values are cultural constructs of American society that can certainly influence and shape the myriad ways in which individual identity is formed.
By identifying these value sets and analyzing the ways in which SCI …

Reforming Dance Pedagogy: A Feminist Perspective On The Art Of Performance And Dance Education, Jennifer Clement
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Dancers, in their formal training, are deprived of many basic human experiences and are often not exposed to critical thinking. Expectations about what it means to dance and/or be a dancer shape the classroom environment, performances and both the body and mind of individuals engaged in this particular art form. A professional dancer is expected to plan her day around the dance classroom and this mentality is shared by aspiring professionals as well as dance educators. This structure, in tandem with the expectations for a female dancer to maintain a certain body type- almost always a thin flexible body, toned …

Participatory Fandom In American Culture: A Qualitative Case Study Of Dragoncon Attendees, Katherine L. Fleming
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
With the rise of the mass media over the last century, fame and celebrity seem to have evolved into ever-growing phenomena. Likewise, audience members have sought increasing involvement with people or activities related to the focus of their interest. These individuals are not content to simply watch their favorite actors or films from home. Instead, they take a more active approach, engaging in activities related to their fandom as well as seeking interaction with each other in organized groups (in person and on the Internet), attending conventions, and seeking interaction with celebrities.
This study presents a discussion of fame, celebrity, …

Study Habits Of Postgraduate Students In Selected Nigerian Universities, Stella E. Igun, Oghenevwogaga Benson Adogbeji
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
The paper discusses study and reading habits of postgraduate students in selected Nigerian universities. Two hundred questionnaires were sent to five Nigerian universities. A total of 156 (78%) were returned. Students were asked about time and duration of study, learning styles and methods, materials used, and motivation. The results showed that the students did not see the library as a primary place to study. Students' purposes for study include personal knowledge and skills, and examination preparation.

Ethnomedicinal Plants Used Against Skin Diseases In Some Villages Of Kali Gandaki, Bagmati And Tadi Likhu Watersheds Of Nepal, Ananda Raj Joshi, Kunjani Joshi
Ethnobotanical Leaflets
The paper enumerates the traditional uses of 73 plant species belonging to 62 genera representing 47 families, which are used by the village communities of Kali Gandaki, Bagmati, and Tadi Likhu watersheds of Nepal for the treatment skin diseases. Some of useful species are under serious threat due to unsustainable activities. Hence, a proper documentation of useful plants with their present status and local traditional knowledge as well as practices is urgently needed. Effort should also be initiated to implement appropriate conservation measures for preservation and sustainable uses of these useful species.

Anti-Foreign-Suit Injunctions To Enforce Arbitration Agreements, John J. Barceló Iii
Anti-Foreign-Suit Injunctions To Enforce Arbitration Agreements, John J. Barceló Iii
Cornell Law Faculty Publications
Despite agreeing that courts should exercise great caution concerning anti-foreign-suit injunctions, the author argues in favor of such a remedy in a particular setting where enforcing an agreement to arbitrate is at stake. That setting occurs when the parties to an arbitration agreement place the arbitration seat in a particular country (F1) and also choose that country's law to govern the arbitration agreement (its existence, validity and scope). Such an agreement should be understood as choosing F1 courts to resolve any differences over the "ordinary arbitrability" of the dispute (existence, validity, and scope of the arbitration clause). Thus, if one …

Gsu Offers Class On Death Penalty, Office Of Public Affairs
Press Releases
Capital punishment is perhaps one of the most debated issues of the new century. Questions and concerns about its equitable and accurate application and about its humane implementation are currently under discussion and review at all levels of government and in the courts.
These key issues will be addressed and investigated in “The Death Penalty in America,” a new course offered for the first time at Governors State University in the Winter 2008 trimester, beginning January 7. Dr. James “Chip” Coldren, Academic Program Coordinator for the GSU Criminal Justice Program, and Vincent R. Jones, GSU professor and lawyer, will teach …
