The Anchor, Volume 121.08: October 31, 2007, Hope College

The Anchor: 2007

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Speeches Of Lowell E. Davis, Dean Of Usf St. Petersburg, 1986 - 1989 : A Collection Guide, Nelson Poynter Memorial Library. Special Collections And University Archives., James Anthony Schnur, Shawn Reynolds

Special Collections and University Archives Legacy Finding Aids: All Items

Dr. Lowell E. Davis served as dean during an important phase of USF St. Petersburg's history. He arrived in August 1986 and promptly set into motion an agenda that supported the expansion of course offerings and academic majors at USF St. Petersburg. Davis took a strong position in advocating greater autonomy and independence for the growing campus at a time when many Tampa-based administrators hoped to limit curricular initiatives at the University's "branch" campuses. His untimely death in the fall of 1989 slowed the process but did not extinguish the dreams of greater autonomy. Subsequent administrators at USF St. Petersburg …

Wakefield Land Conservation Education & Outreach Project, Cindy Barstow, Cheri Schlenker

PREP Reports & Publications

The Town of Wakefield has experienced an unprecedented growth explosion in the past seven years. Pressures to use heretofore undeveloped land for the construction of residential housing has threatened the natural resources of this community. The projected growth rate has the potential to severely impact Wakefield’s natural resources. While the town has undertaken a comprehensive revision of zoning, site plan and subdivision regulations, it is important that voluntary land protection measures are advanced to secure permanent protection of valuable resources.

Gats Dan Regulasi Nasional Masalah Rekonsiliasi Dua Tujuan Dan Kepentingan, Adolf Warouw Oct 2007

Gats Dan Regulasi Nasional Masalah Rekonsiliasi Dua Tujuan Dan Kepentingan, Adolf Warouw

Indonesian Journal of International Law

Trade in sevices, far more than trade in goods, is affected by domestic regulations. Many services sectors are highly regulated to ensure a certain level of quality, to protect consumers, environment, public health, or to pursue other social goals. Domestic regulations of all kinds can be drafted and applied in ways that directly or indirectly undermine international trade commitments. Trade rgeime would therefore seem to have legitimate interest in disciplining the use of such regulation. GATS aims at trade liberalization and expansion of trade, hence its central concern is to make sure that national regulation does not create unnecessary barriers …

Thermochemical Treatment Of Tio2 Nanoparticles For Photocatalytic Applications, Mark Schmidt Oct 2007

Thermochemical Treatment Of Tio2 Nanoparticles For Photocatalytic Applications, Mark Schmidt

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Titanium Dioxide (TiO 2) has been considered an ideal photocatalyst due to

factors such as its photocatalytic properties, chemical stability, impact on the

environment and cost. However, its application has been primarily limited to

ultraviolet (UV) environments due to its high band gap (3.2 eV). This high band

gap limits the harvesting of photons to approximately 4% of sunlight radiation.

Research today is focused on lowering this gap by doping or coupling TiO 2 with

other semiconductors, transition metals and non-metal anions, thereby

expanding its effectiveness well into the visible range.

This thesis explores the effects of thermal and thermochemical …

Pertumbuhan Tfp Dan Pengembangan Efisiensi Produksi, Endy Dwi Tjahjono, Donni Fajar Anugrah

Bulletin of Monetary Economics and Banking

This paper investigates both the accumulation and the quality of the input factors with stochastic frontier production function model. The application of the model also enables us to predict the technical efficiency of the input factors for each province of Indonesia. The model result shows that the capital and the labor share to output are 0.4 and 0.6 respectively. In all Indonesia regions, the quality of the labor or human capital affects the output, but the effect is so small, especially in East Indonesia. Meanwhile, the quality of capital is decreasing by the time and has a negative small coefficient for …
