My subject is Joseph Smith in a personal world. My lens is primarily a personal one—his impact on me and believers I have known during my lifetime. I will also discuss Joseph Smith’s own personal world and his impact on his acquaintances and friends. A major focus will be Joseph Smith’s role as a prophet and his teachings on the reality of revelation. By prophet I mean one who speaks for God in revealing divine truth to others. By revelation I mean God’s communication to man—to prophets and to every one of us, if we seek.

The researcher identified security issues in the wireless network, and discussed methods and the importance of a securing wireless network. Wireless network encryption in use today were examined for their vulnerabilities and the researcher determined that most of the wireless security features in use today do not provide adequate security measure. The researcher recommended that home or Small Office/ Home Office (SOHO) environment users to make the best of what is available for securing wireless networks i.e. upgrade to WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2), or use WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) with truly random value with minimum 20 characters of PSK …

Travel Assistant Device (Tad) To Help Transit Riders, Philip L. Winters, Sean Barbeau, Nevine Georggi, Rafael Perez, Miguel Labrador

CUTR Research Reports

This proposed application, Travel Assistance Device (TAD), would use multimedia cell phones with built-in global positioning systems to help new transit riders, especially those who are cognitively disabled. Informational prompts will be delivered to the rider in a "just-in-time" method such as triggering the phone to ring, vibrate or deliver an audio message when the rider should pull the stop cord. Automated alarms can be triggered and the travel trainer and/or parent/guardian remotely alerted in case a rider wanders off their pre-determined path. Negotiating Intercultural Conflict In Cloistered Community: A Case Study, Mathew Joseph Choorapanthiyil

This case study investigates the broad cultural differences in the preferred ways of communicating in situations of interpersonal conflict within the setting of a multicultural cloistered community of women religious. The participants consisted of fourteen individuals from seven countries residing within the United States in a community with permanent relationships. The linkage of cultural individualism and collectivism (VC), independent and dependent self-construal, and low and high context communication were analyzed in order to evaluate the influence of culture on the communication styles. The findings confirm established theory regarding the differences between individualism and collectivism. The study also measured the preference …

Diversity And Structure Of Bacterial Chemolithotrophic Communities In Pine Forest And Agroecosystem Soils, J. Tolli, G. M. King

Obligate lithotrophs (e.g., ammonia oxidizers) and facultative lithotrophs (e.g., CO and hydrogen oxidizers) collectively comprise a phylogenetically diverse functional group that contributes significantly to carbon and nitrogen cycles in soils and plays important roles in trace gas dynamics (e.g., carbon monoxide and nitrous and nitric oxides) that affect tropospheric chemistry and radiative forcing. In spite of their diverse physiologies, facultative and obligate lithotrophs typically possess the Calvin-Benson-Bassham cycle enzyme, ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (rubisCO).
