The Influence Of Parenting Styles On The Development Of Moral Judgment In College Level Adolescents, Scott M. Hawkins

This research project addresses the relationship between parenting styles and the development of moral judgment in college students enrolled in a four year private University in Central Virginia. The purpose of this study is to identify the extent to which parenting styles are one of the "building blocks" for the development of moral judgment in adolescents. The instruments used are the Parental Authority Questionnaire (Buri, 1988) and the Defining Issues Test - II (Rest, 1999). Dunks And Drunks: Depictions Of Drug And Alcohol Use Among High School Athletes In Film, Peter S. Finley, Laura L. Finley

Essays in Education

Mediated portrayals of student-athletes can provide strong role models for realworld student-athletes. This research explored the images of student-athletes in sportrelated films regarding depictions of drug and alcohol use. A content analysis of six sport-related films released between 1994 and 2000 was conducted 1) to address whether such films accurately depicted drug and alcohol use among student-athletes and 2) to consider how these presentations might impact viewers who are, themselves, high school student-athletes. You Can't Say That!: Enjoining Publication Of Trade Secrets Despite The First Amendment, Brooks W. Taylor

Computer Law Review and Technology Journal

Enjoining publication of trade secrets is certainly restraint of speech, but is it invalid under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution? Different courts have answered that question in different ways. Some courts have applied strict scrutiny and found preliminary injunctions against the publication of trade secrets to be unconstitutional prior restraint of free speech. Most recently, the California Supreme Court, applying intermediate scrutiny, found such an injunction against the re-publication of computer code on the Internet to be a content-neutral restraint not barred by the prior restraint doctrine.
