Biotinylation Of K12 In Histone H4 Decreases In Response To Dna Double-Strand Breaks In Human Jar Choriocarcinoma Cells1,2, Nagarama Kothapalli, Gautam Sarath, Janos Zempleni
Biotinylation Of K12 In Histone H4 Decreases In Response To Dna Double-Strand Breaks In Human Jar Choriocarcinoma Cells1,2, Nagarama Kothapalli, Gautam Sarath, Janos Zempleni
United States Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service / University of Nebraska-Lincoln: Faculty Publications
We tested the hypothesis that biotinylation of K12 in histone H4 plays a role in the cellular response to double-strand breaks (DSB) of DNA in human cells. DSB were caused by treating choriocarcinoma JAr cells with etoposide. Biotinylation of K12 in histone H4 decreased by 50% as early as 10–20 min after initiation of treatment with etoposide. Biotinylation returned to initial levels 30–40 min after the addition of etoposide to the medium. Temporal patterns of K12-biotinylation were similar for human lymphoma cells. Phosphorylation of S14 of histone H2B and poly(ADP-ribosylation) of glutamate residues on histone H2A are known markers of …

Teaching Legal Research And Writing With Actual Legal Work: Extending Clinical Education Into The First Year, Steven D. Schwinn
Teaching Legal Research And Writing With Actual Legal Work: Extending Clinical Education Into The First Year, Steven D. Schwinn
ExpressO
In this article, we advocate using actual legal work to teach legal research and writing courses, including first year courses. By “actual legal work,” we mean work that is part of an ongoing or planned lawsuit, transaction, negotiation or other form of legal representation. We offer an overview and critique of the traditional legal writing curriculum, and we describe our initiatives to build upon and enhance that curriculum with the use of actual legal work. We conclude with some thoughts on the relative merits of our approach and ideas for following our model.

Scholarly Works
This is an edited, annotated transcript of a conference panel discussion on feminism, sex, and gender in law, legal education, and legal scholarship. The transcript reflects widely divergent views of the place of feminism, sex, and gender in the law and legal scholarship. Moreover, the panelists differ as to the role feminism has played in the lives of women as law students and practicing attorneys. In the latter part of the transcript, the panelists' remarks focus in on hotly debated issues surrounding possible gender (or sex) and racial bias in LSAT testing and the innate abilities of women and men …

Examining The Relationship Between Radioactivity In Baby Teeth And Cancer Incidence And Mortality Near The Brookhaven National Laboratory, Radiation And Public Health Project, Inc., Joseph J. Mangano
Radiation and Public Health Project, Inc.
The Radiation and Public Health Project (RPHP), a non-profit research and education group consisting of health professionals and scientists, has proposed to analyze information enabling it to: 1) compare trends of radiation in baby teeth with trends in cancer in eastern Long Island, near the Brookhaven National Laboratories (BNL) 2) evaluate if Long Island children with certain diseases such as cancer have elevated levels of radiation in their baby teeth.
The analysis is of great importance to understanding radiation’s health risks to humans. RPHPs unique data base of Strontium-90 measurements in hundreds of BNL-area baby teeth enables it to compare …
