A Educação Intercultural Na Escola E O Reconhecimento Do Outro Diferente, Isabela Cabral Félix De Sousa
Education Policy Analysis Archives (EPAA)
This article describes a potential project of intercultural education for schools. It begins by emphasizing the growing importance of this kind of project in an era of globalization. Then, I describe some educational proposals toward the construction of a new way to look to oneself and "the other." Third, I discuss the possibility that a project of this nature may be resisted since it challenges the status quo. Finally, the article stresses that the implementation of this project depends on educational policies and the efforts of the total society

Licensed Electrician Dies When Electrocuted By 480volts, Kentucky Injury Prevention And Research Center
Fatality Case Reports--Other
On July 4, 2003, a 36-year-old male lead electrician died after being electrocuted with 480 volts of electricity. A crew of five licensed electricians were working at an automotive supply manufacturing facility running wires to connect service for two air conditioning units (3-phase; 480 volts; 30 amp and 35 amp) and service for a lighting panel (3-phase; 277/480 volts and 200 amps). The manufacturing facility had been shut down for the holiday, and besides a facilities office worker in the facilities main office, the five men were the only workers at the site and had complete control of the facility …

Decision Factors For Cooperative Multiple Warhead Uav Target Classification And Attack With Control Applications, Douglas D. Decker
Decision Factors For Cooperative Multiple Warhead Uav Target Classification And Attack With Control Applications, Douglas D. Decker
Theses and Dissertations
Autonomous wide area search, classification and attack using Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAVs) is considered. The wide area search and attack scenario is modeled, capturing important problem parameters related to environment, seeker, and munitions. Probabilistic analysis is used to formulate and analytically solve for various probabilities, including the probability of mission success. Two methods are utilized. The first examines the sub-events required for various events to occur. The second utilizes a Markov chain approach. General expressions are first obtained that are applicable to any assumed a priori distributions of targets and false targets. These expressions are subsequently applied to a …
