Scheduling And Partitioning Vlsi Circuit Operating At Multiple Supply Voltages, Ling Wang

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

With today's increasingly large and complex digital integrated circuit (IC) and system-on-chip designs, power dissipation has emerged as a primary design consideration. Reduction of power consumption in VLSI designs can be achieved at various levels of the design hierarchy, ranging from processing technology, circuit, logic, architectural and algorithmic (behavioral) levels, up to system level. It has also been long recognized that the most dramatic power saving is achievable at the algorithm and architecture levels, where computations are normally described using data/control flow graph. Thus, in this thesis, a multiple supply voltage IC is synthesized at the behavior level; There are, …

Late Quaternary Glacial And Periglacial Environments, Snake Range, Nevada, John G Van Hoesen

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

Limited research has been conducted on the paleoclimatic significance of glacial and periglacial features in the Great Basin. Glacial features in the range were first recognized and described by early explorers (Gilbert, 1875; Simpson; 1876 and Russell, 1884) and subsequent authors have continued to substantiate and elaborate on earlier reports (Heald, 1956; Kramer, 1962; Currey, 1969; Peigat, 1980; Osborn and Bevis, 2001). Since this early reconnaissance work, few studies have focused on the Late Quaternary evolution and paleoclimatic implications of glacial and periglacial landforms in the Great Basin (Wayne, 1983; Osborn, 1989; Bevis, 1995; and Osborn and Bevis, 2001). Wayne …

Community College Human Resource Officers' Perceptions Of False Sexual Harassment Accusation Processing, Carlton Ransom Insley Jan 2003

Community College Human Resource Officers' Perceptions Of False Sexual Harassment Accusation Processing, Carlton Ransom Insley

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

Sexual harassment in America's academic institutions, including two-year colleges, continues to be an important issue for administrators to address. While people may believe that the potential for false accusations exists, as is true for any inappropriate behavior, little has been written, or presumably, studied about false sexual harassment accusation. A theoretical framework taken from Rotter's Expectancy-Reinforcement Theory (a Social Learning theory) was proposed as a basis to explain the possibility that contemporary conventional behavior may be guiding college administrators who process sexual harassment claims, and those who are participants. It states, in part, that individuals behave in a manner that …
