InterLibrary Loan Support for the Yucca Mountain Project (YMP) Technical Information Center. This project was initiated to support the Technical Information Center (TIC) efforts to acquire cited-reference documentation (journal articles, technical reports, book chapters, symposia and other monographs, reference materials, etc.). It also supported selective acquisition by UNLV Libraries of titles that would benefit the YMP, UCCSN/UNLV, and the general public’s research needs in the area of underground nuclear waste disposal and nuclear waste transportation.

An extensive data set of 54 time-resolved pump-probe measurements was used to examine CO+He rotational energy transfer within the CO v=2 rotational manifold. Rotational levels in the range Ji=2-9 were excited and collisional energy transfer of population to the levels Jf=1-10 was monitored. The resulting data set was analyzed by fitting to numerical solutions of the master equation. State-to-state rate constant matrices were generated using fitting law functions and ab initio theoretical calculations that employed the SAPT potential energy surface of Heijmen et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 107, 9921 (1997)]. Fitting laws based on …

Design And Development Of A Silicon Carbide Chemical Vapor Deposition Reactor, Matthew T. Smith
Design And Development Of A Silicon Carbide Chemical Vapor Deposition Reactor, Matthew T. Smith
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The goal of this thesis is to present the design and development of a chemical vapor deposition reactor for the growth of high quality homoepitaxy silicon carbide films for electronic device applications. The work was performed in the Nanomaterials and Nanomanufacturing Research Center at the University of South Florida from 8/2001-5/2003.
Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is the technique of choice for SiC epitaxial growth. Epitaxial layers are the building blocks for use in various semiconductor device applications. This thesis reports on a SiC epitaxy process where a carrier gas (hydrogen) is saturated with reactive precursors (silane and propane) which are …

Preliminary Assessment Of Experimental Sophomore Ee Courses, James G. Harris, Kena Burke
Preliminary Assessment Of Experimental Sophomore Ee Courses, James G. Harris, Kena Burke
Electrical Engineering
In academic year 2001-2002, an experimental yearlong sequence of courses was taught to EE and CPE majors that replaced the traditional circuits and electronics sequence of required courses. The experimental sequence consisted of three quarters, with the first quarter devoted to digital signal processing, and the next two quarters formed from an integrated approach to circuits and electronics. The two sections of students who took the experimental course now are taking the junior year required courses in their major. An assessment is being made to compare the experimental students with a cohort of traditional students. Preliminary results are given for …
An Examination Of The Relationship Between Academic Dishonesty And Professional Behavior, Trevor S. Harding, Honor J. Passow, Donald D. Carpenter, Cynthia J. Finelli
An Examination Of The Relationship Between Academic Dishonesty And Professional Behavior, Trevor S. Harding, Honor J. Passow, Donald D. Carpenter, Cynthia J. Finelli
Materials Engineering
A number of recent studies have found correlations between academic dishonesty in higher education and unethical behavior in the work settings. However, these studies have not explored the causal relationship between the underlying factors that lead to this dishonesty. This realization, and apparently high levels of cheating among engineering students, has lead us to a research hypothesis that decision making patterns about academic cheating among engineering students are positively correlated with those individuals' decision making patterns about work place ethics and responsibility. To test our hypothesis, we have developed an exploratory survey that asks questions about the respondent's decisions during …

Optimizing Cost And Data Entry For Assignment Of Patients To Clinical Trials Using Analytical And Probabilistic Web-Based Agents, Bhavesh Dineshbhai Goswami
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
A clinical trial is defined as a study conducted on a group of patients to determine the effect of a treatment. Assignment of patients to clinical trials is a data and labor intensive task. Usually, medical personnel manually check the eligibility of a patient for a clinical trial based on the patient's medical history and current medical condition. According to studies, most clinical trials are under-enrolled which negatively affects their effectiveness. We have developed web-based agents that can test the eligibility of patients for many clinical trials at once. We have tested various heuristics for optimizing cost and data entry …
