Study Of The Anatomical Variations Of The Musculocutaneous Nerve, Mohammed H. Badawoud

Neurosciences

OBJECTIVE: To study the anatomical variations of the musculocutaneous nerve. METHODS: Fifty-four arms from embalmed adult cadavers were utilized for this investigation. They were carefully dissected and examined for any anatomical variations of the musculocutaneous nerve. This study was performed at the Department of Anatomy, King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 2001 and 2003. RESULTS: Four anomalies of the musculocutaneous nerve were found in this study. One case showed that the musculocutaneous nerve pierced the coracobrachialis muscle and passed inside the muscle for some distance. The Awareness Of Social Nudism In Modern Society, Joyce R. Casto Jan 2003

The Awareness Of Social Nudism In Modern Society, Joyce R. Casto

USF St. Petersburg campus Honors Program Theses (Undergraduate)

In the United States, there currently exists varying perceptions about Social Nudism. Some consider it a form of expression, while others find the behavior deviant or out of the norm and immoral. My paper focuses on a specific group known as the Naturists, the present day term for Nudists, a social culture that engages in complete nudity in a community setting. I chose this topic in an effort to increase awareness of this culture and to expel some of the misconceptions which have existed for many years. I have always been curious about this lifestyle so when the opportunity arose …

Physician-Assisted Suicide And Federalism, Brian H. Bix Jan 2003

Physician-Assisted Suicide And Federalism, Brian H. Bix

Articles

The article considers the application of general theories of federalism (e.g., states as laboratories and competitive federalism) to the issue of physician-assisted suicide. The article also uses the analogies of same-sex marriage and medical marijuana to explore some of the moral and policy issues raised by this intersection of medical ethics and federalism.

Am I Too Fat? Bulimia As An Epidemic, Christopher Kribs, Beverly Gonzalez, Emilia Huerta-Sanchez, Angela Ortiz-Nieves, Terannie Vazquez-Alvarez

Mathematics Faculty Publications - Archive

For at least the past ten years, eating disorders have had a major impact in the physical and mental health of women, particularly young women. Anorexia and bulimia nervosa are closely linked eating disorders. Anorexia often precedes bulimia. However, there are about 2 million women in college that have been exclusively bulimic. In this article, we focus on the role of college-peer pressure on the dynamics of anorexia-free bulimia. The model looks at bulimia as a progressive disease and explores the impact of intervention (treatment) at two stages of disease progression. The impact of relapse (a common occurrence among bulimics) …
