The English Primeirship: My Introduction To The Beautiful Game In England, Richard C. Crepeau
On Sport and Society
Outlined on a blue-gray October sky, or was it a September sky? Actually it was both and it was football. The four horsemen of Notre Dame were nowhere to be seen nor was Grantland Rice. It was English Premiership football and now after attending two games and watching others on television I am beginning to get a feel for this sport that makes Americans yawn and the world go into a frenzy.

On Simplicial Commutative Algebras With Noetherian Homotopy, James M. Turner
On Simplicial Commutative Algebras With Noetherian Homotopy, James M. Turner
University Faculty Publications and Creative Works
In this paper, we introduce a strategy for studying simplicial commutative algebras over general commutative rings R. Given such a simplicial algebra A, this strategy involves replacing A with a connected simplicial commutative k(℘)-algebra A(℘), for each ℘ ε Spec(π0A), which we call the connected component of A at ℘. These components retain most of the André-Quillen homology of A when the coefficients are k(℘)-modules (k(℘)=residue field of ℘ in π0A). Thus, these components should carry quite a bit of the homotopy theoretic information for A. Our aim will be to apply this strategy to those simplicial algebras which possess …

While child abuse and neglect appears to affect children of all racial and ethnic origins (US Department of Health and Human Services, 1998; Sedlack & Broadhurst, 1996), an analysis of national, California and Santa Clara County data on the ethnicities of children in out of home placement reveals that, compared to their presence in the general population, there is a disproportionate involvement of children of color in the public child welfare system (CWS). In Santa Clara County, in particular, when compared to the general population, African American, Hispanic/Latino and Native American children are overrepresented in the CWS, while Asian American/Pacific …
