An up to 3× breakdown voltage tristate capable integrated circuit CMOS buffer includes a level shifter circuit and a driver circuit. The driver stage includes a series connected n-channel and p-channel cascode stacks, each including at least three transistors. Dynamic gate biasing is provided for the third n-channel and p-channel cascode transistors to prevent voltage overstress of the cascode transistors. The level shifter circuit includes at least one pseudo N-MOS inverter including an input transistor, a protective cascode stack including at least one n-channel cascode transistor, and a load transistor. Teacher testing was inaugurated in Massachusetts in 1998 and a 59% failure rate among test-takers led to public shaming of the teacher candidates and their colleges and universities in the media. Within a two-year time period, low-performing teacher education programs in Massachusetts initiated a wide range of test preparatory activities which led to a dramatic increase in their students' pass rates. The authors separate colleges and universities into three categories and examine their differentiated responses to teacher testing. Their finding that institutions of higher education have responded effectively to teacher testing does not preclude critique of teacher testing as currently …

The Committee on Issues of Sexual Orientation (CISO), an Advisory Committee to the President of the University of South Florida, first convened in September 1993. Later renamed the Committee on Issues of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (CISOGI), this advisory body regularly meets with USF executive staff, human resources personnel, and representatives from the diversity and equal opportunity offices. This university-wide body has consulted with groups about adding non-discriminatory clauses and partner benefits for all employees, regardless of sexual orientation. Reconfiguration In An Optical Multiring Interconnection Network - Masters Thesis, December 2002, Praveen Krishnamurthy

All Computer Science and Engineering Research

The advent of optical technology that can feasibly support extremely high bandwidth chip-to-chip communication raises a host of architectural questions in the design of digital systems. Terabit per second (and higher) bandwidths have not been previously available at the chip level. In this thesis, we examine the use of this technology in two different scenarios, viz., as the interconnection network in a multiprocessor system and as a switch fabric in network routers. Specifically, we examine the performance gains associated with utilizing the bandwidth reconfiguration capabilities of a system based on this technology.
