Iodat Analysis Content In Cooking Ingredients Using Iodometry And X-Ray Fluorescence Methods., Nelson Saksono

Makara Journal of Technology

Iodat Analysis Content in Cooking Ingredients Using Iodometry and X-ray Fluorescence Methods. Salt iodization program using iodine fortification into salt method is the best method that is effective and economical to overcome the problems caused by iodine deficiency. However in, its development there are some issues clamed that the use of iodized salt is ineffective since iodine content reduces, even disappear when the salt mix with other cooking ingredients. In order to investigated the existence of iodine in cooking ingredients, a research applying iodometry and X-ray fluorescence methods was carry out. The result obtained by iodometry method showed decreases in …

Emission Gas Reducer On Motor Vehicle, Automobile, Light Engine Of Boat And Stationary Combustion Engine., I Gusti Bagus Wijaya Kusuma

Makara Journal of Technology

Emission gas reducer on motor vehicle, automobile, light engine of boat and stationary combustion engine. The use of motor vehicle should be followed by protection against damages on the environment, since the exhaust gas from combustion engine has significantly affect on air and environmental pollution. One method to solve the problems in air pollution has been done by using a re-heater designed in Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Udayana. In accordance to the test on the re-heater, it can be seen very clear that the re-heater has significantly reduce the CO emission of about 54%. It also reduces the CO2 …

The Use Of 2d Plastic Grating For Surface Profile And Dimension Manufacture Product Measurements By Using Ndt Moiré Technique, Retno Wigajatri P., Dini Andiani

Makara Journal of Technology

The Use of 2D Plastic Grating for Surface Profile and Dimension Manufacture Product Measurements by Using NDT Moiré Technique. Research of measuring the shape and dimension of object using the moiré technique have been done. Measurement have been made by observing the moiré space as a result of interaction between grating and its shadow casted on the object’s surface caused by the projector lamp with CCD camera. The acquired data was further processed by way of off-line. By successive phase shifts that is π/2, π dan 3π/2 towards the table tennis ball at the distance of 48 cm from the …

Introduction Of The 305Arg→305Ser Mutation In The Large Extrinsic Loop E Of The Cp43 Protein Of Synechocystis Sp. Pcc 6803 Leads To The Loss Of Cytochrome C550 Binding To Photosystem Ii, Terry M. Bricker, Andrew Young, Laurie K. Frankel, Cindy Putnam-Evans

Faculty Publications

CP43, a component of Photosystem II (PSII) in higher plants, algae and cyanobacteria, is encoded by the psbC gene. Previous work demonstrated that alteration of an arginine residue occurring at position 305 to serine produced a strain (R305S) with altered PSII characteristics including lower oxygen-evolving activity, fewer assembled reaction centers, higher sensitivity to photoinactivation, etc. [Biochemistry 38 (1999) 1582]. Additionally, it was determined that the mutant exhibited an enhanced stability of its S2 state. Recently, we observed a significant chloride effect under chloride-limiting conditions. The mutant essentially lost the ability to grow photoautotrophically, assembled fewer fully functional PSII reaction centers …

Terabit Burst Switching Final Report, Jonathan S. Turner Dec 2002

Terabit Burst Switching Final Report, Jonathan S. Turner

All Computer Science and Engineering Research

This is the final report For Washington University's Terabit Burst Switching Project, supported by DARPA and Rome Air Force Laboratory. The primary objective of the project has been to demonstrate the feasibility of Burst Switching, a new data communication service, which seeks to more effectively exploit the large bandwidths becoming available in WDM transmission systems. Burst switching systems dynamically assign data bursts to channels in optical datalinks, using routing information carried in parallel control channels.

An Optimum Greedy Algorithm For Choosing Minimal Set Of Conflicting Constraints In The Point Sequencing Problem, Florent Launay, Mitra Debasis Dec 2002

An Optimum Greedy Algorithm For Choosing Minimal Set Of Conflicting Constraints In The Point Sequencing Problem, Florent Launay, Mitra Debasis

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Faculty Publications

In this work, we first have proposed a technique to define the "causes" of inconsistency on an online point based reasoning constraint network. Second, we introduce an algorithm that proposes the user a minimal set of relations to remove when inconsistencies are detected. We have developed and implemented a battery of algorithms for the purpose of this type of reasoning. Some useful theorems and properties are defined for proving the 'minimal' aspect of the algorithm. Finally, we found that our investigation was a polynomially solvable sub problem of the vertex cover problem.

First established in 1902, the publication ran for just over a century, until its closure in 2006.---NFSD was an insurance business established in 1901. Its purposes were to provide insurance to mainly Deaf members, to serve as an advocate for the Deaf, and to provide community service and recreational opportunities through divisional activities. The existing insurance coverage was transferred to the Catholic Order of Foresters in 2005. The NFSD disbanded in 2007.---The Frat's main purpose was to keep members apprised of the activities of …

Establishing Recording Studios For The Purpose Of Developing Indigenous Worship For Tunisian Believers, Frank Fortunato Dec 2002

Establishing Recording Studios For The Purpose Of Developing Indigenous Worship For Tunisian Believers, Frank Fortunato

Masters Theses

Over several decades churches worldwide have focused on recovering or discovering biblical, vibrant worship. With one brilliant statement John Piper captured the current wave of worship and connected it to missions. In what has become a classic motto of the missions movement Piper reminded the Christian community that “missions exists because worship doesn’t. Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is.” While not a new concept, these few words helped forge missions and worship into symbiotic relationship. Each morphed into the other in an ongoing continuum. The establishing of thriving, biblical churches that were also worshiping churches …

Using Gis For Forest Recreation Planning On The Longleaf Ridge Special Area Of The Angelina National Forest, East Texas, I-Kuai Hung Dec 2002

Using Gis For Forest Recreation Planning On The Longleaf Ridge Special Area Of The Angelina National Forest, East Texas, I-Kuai Hung

Faculty Publications

Longleaf Ridge Special Area (LRSA) located in the Angelina National Forest is the westernmost example of a longleaf pine savanna community. Ecologically, the area is one of the most diverse communities in Texas. Due to its size, abundant natural and historical resources, numerous outdoor recreation opportunities exist. In this study, GIS was used to develop a forest recreation concept plan on LRSA. Most of the geospatial data came from public entities. Information for demand analysis on forest recreation was obtained from the 2000 National Survey on Recreation and the Environment database. U.S. Forest Service recreation fee envelope data were analyzed …

Predicting The Readability Of Transparent Text, Lauren F. V. Scharff, Albert J. Ahumada Jr. Dec 2002

Predicting The Readability Of Transparent Text, Lauren F. V. Scharff, Albert J. Ahumada Jr.

Faculty Publications

Will a simple global masking model based on image detection be successful at predicting the readability of transparent text? Text readability was measured for two types of transparent text: additive (as occurs in head-up displays) and multiplicative (which occurs in see-through liquid crystal display virtual reality displays). Text contrast and background texture were manipulated. Data from two previous experiments were also included (one using very low contrasts on plain backgrounds, and the other using higher-contrast opaque text on both plain and textured backgrounds). All variables influenced readability in at least an interactive manner. When there were background textures, the global …
