The objective of this paper is to map the sociological context in which the cultural economy of technology of Singapore exists. Taking a socio-histori cal perspective, this paper argues that the development of Singapore as a technological 'intelligent island' must take centre stage in relation to the soci ological analysis of modern Singapore's political, economic, and socio-cultural structure. This involves a critique of theories of the information society and empirical research on East Asian developmental states. The performance of most manufacturing processes depends on numerous parameters and their interactions. Most of the time, selection of an appropriate set of machining parameters is done based on experience, trial and error or both. Electro-discharge machining (EDM) process is complicated and random in nature. The United States is almost alone among nations in permitting the execution of juvenile offenders. Citing this fact, along with a variety of legal and historical materials, litigants and scholars are increasingly claiming that the United States' use of the juvenile death penalty violates international law. This Article examines the validity of this claim, from the perspective of both the international legal system and the U. S. legal system. The major considerations on this subject for a court are whether any limitation on adult uses is based on content, or whether it is based on the secondary effects of these uses on the surrounding community. There have been a number of instances in the last years in which federal courts have found adult use zoning restrictions to be acceptable, if they have been motivated by a desire to protect neighborhood quality, as contrasted with impermissible desire to ban the message purveyed by the adult uses.

The author analyzes Colombia's problems and makes recommendations regarding what it will take to achieve stated U.S. and Colombian objectives in that crisis situation. She also examines the concomitant issue of "spillover" from the Colombian crisis into the rest of the Latin American region. The results and recommendations of this analysis go well beyond prescribing a simple military solution to the complex political-economic-social-moral-security issues of this 50-year-old war. OBJECTIVE: To compare and evaluate the efficacy and tolerance of intravesical instillation of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) and interferon alpha-2b immunotherapy for superficial transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the urinary bladder. METHODS: Thirty-five patients with superficial TCC of the urinary bladder, primary and recurrent tumors, stage Ta, T1, and grade 1 and 2, were prospectively enrolled for intravesical immunotherapy at the Armed Forces Hospital, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between January 1992 and December 2000. OBJECTIVE: To report the results of repeat intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) after complete failure of fertilization with initial ICSI. METHODS: The medical records of the couples undergoing repeat ICSI at the Human Reproductive Biology Unit, Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after complete failure of fertilization by initial ICSI between December 1994 and December 2000 were retrospectively examined. RESULTS: Seven hundred and eighty two oocytes from 146 women failed to fertilize by initial ICSI. The main indications for the procedure were severe oligoasthenoteratozoospermia or azoospermia. St. Matthew Island (608 249 N, 1728 429 W) and its small nearby satellites, Hall Island and Pinnacle Rock, are isolated in the north-central Bering Sea. This infrequently visited location occupies a geographic position with a deep Bering Land Bridge history and is in an area of interdigitation of the Old World, New World, and Beringian avifaunas. It is known for its three Beringian endemics, a bird (McKay’s Bunting, Plectrophenax hyperboreus), a small mammal, and a plant. This level of endemism is striking for a high-latitude island.
