This research focuses on the approaches and strategies to be taken by any translator in the search for the closest natural equivalence for any given noun. However the approaches and strategies are only a suggestion based on the writer's extracted samplings from the two Japanese novels, namely Hatsukoi by Tatsuya Yoshimura and Hyaku lkkai Me no Puropousu by Shinji Yojima. The chemical content of the 'leaves and bark of Des mos dumosus has been carried out in this study. The leaves yielded nine isoquinoline type of alkaloids and two flavones. The isoquinoline alkaloids isolated were pronuciferine 37, stepharine 39, nomuciferine 40, (-) - 3 - hydroxynomuciferine 41, norlirioferine 42, asimilobine 43, liriodenine 44, lysicamine 45 and O - methylmoschatoline 46. The flavones were 5 - hydroxy - 6,7 - dimethoxyflavone 47 and 5 - hydroxy - 7,8 - dimethoxyflavone 48. The same flavones, 47 and 48 and the alkaloids 45 and 46 were also present in the bark of this …

"Phthalate Esters" ("PEs") are considered as major industrial wastes that can cause pollution in the river water. A study of determination of the PEs in the Klang River water by the application of "Gas Chromatography'' ("GC'') with "Flame-Ionisation Detector" ("FID") will be carried out in this project. "Mass-Selective Detector" ("GC-MSD") will be used in the identification of phthalates compoW1d. A BP-5 non-polar capillary column will be used for the river water analysis. Copper(II) benzoate, copper(II) 4-fluorobenzoate, copper(II) 4-chlorobenzoate, copper(II) 4-bromobenzoate, copper(II) 4-iodobenzoate, copper(II) pentafluoro benzoate, copper(II) 4-nitrobenzoate and copper(II) 3,5-dinitrobenzoate are potential low dimensional thermally stable molecular electronics. The them1al properties of these samples are investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). TGA reveals that copper(II) benzoate (CB) slowly decomposed at 243.5°C, losing 67.7% of its weight at 515°C. The DSC shows two endotherms separated by an exotherm. The first endotherm at 224°C may due to the breaking of bridging bond to give benzoyloxy radicals. The exotherm at 231°C may due to the formation of volatiles from the decomposition …

In this study, several lithium intercalation compounds have been synthesized and characterized. Lithium manganese copper oxide cathode materials were prepared by sol gel method using tartaric acid as the gelating agent. Five types of cathode materials were synthesized. The sol gel technique has permitted the synthesis of manganese oxides that are capable of reversibly intercalating large amounts of lithium ions. To see the effect of adding copper to lithium manganese oxide several experiments were carried out. These include X-Ray diffraction to see whether the LiMn₂O₄ lattice has widened or collapsed. This dissertation presents the fabrication, characterization and application of short period fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The FBG is inscribed on high germania boron co-doped optical fiber by phase mask method with a 244nm continuous wave frequency doubled Argon ion laser as a laser source. The FBGs with reflectivity ranging from 98 -99.9%, bandwidth of 0.3 ~ 0.9nm and center wavelength of 1552.5 - 1553.5nm have been fabricated successfully with this method. The time taken for these inscriptions are within 10 to 30 minutes depending on alignment. The fabricated FBGs are characterized using both fiber amplifier (broadband source) and tunable laser …

The City Council of El Cenizo’s Spanish language ordinance, however, has generated a significant amount of controversy in the United States. The ordinance stipulates that all city council meetings will be made in the city’s predominant language—Spanish. Critics argue that the ordinance has made Spanish the official language. Texas landowners face a heavy burden in bringing claims for damages arising out of inherently undiscoverable damages to mineral estates because the statute of limitations starts at the time of injury rather than the time of discovery. Previously, courts adopted the discovery rule as an exception to the statute of limitations, effectively stalling the starting point of the statute of limitations. A two-pronged threshold inquiry is held before the application of the discovery rule. First, the court must determine if the injury is inherently undiscoverable or not detected despite the use of due diligence. Secondly, there must be objectively verifiable …

This study was designed to describe selected characteristics of certified substance abuse counselors in the state of lowa. Specifically, the following characteristics were considered: education, age, gender, length of time in profession, salary range, and if the counselor considers himself/herself recovering or not. Also, substance abuse treatment approaches, knowledge, and experiences of the substance abuse counselors were compiled. A questionnaire was designed and sent to 224 substance abuse counselors in Iowa. Sixty useable questionnaires were returned yielding a 26. 78% return rate. The results of this study indicated a majority (95.0%) of the respondents were over the age of 30 …

Included are discussions of the definitions on MI and giftedness programming and how each approach identification, curriculum and instruction. Three popular gifted education models are viewed through the lens of MI are Autonomous Learner Model (ALM), Talent Identification and Development in Education (TIDE) and Three Ring Conception of Giftedness.
