Color Reproduction Using “Black-Point Adaptation”, Sun Ju Park, Mark Fairchild
Color Reproduction Using “Black-Point Adaptation”, Sun Ju Park, Mark Fairchild
Presentations and other scholarship
Based on the current state of CIECAM97s, there is a missing adjustment associated with a black-point unlike a white-point. As an attempt to improve the performance of CIECAM97s for color reproduction, six algorithms focusing on “black-point adaptation” were generated based on previous work on white-point adaptation methods and gamut mapping methods. The six algorithms were used to reproduce four original images targeted to four simulated hard-copy viewing environments that were only differentiated by their black-point settings. Then, the six algorithms were tested in a psychophysical experiment with 32 observers. As a result, linear lightness rescaling under the luminances of white …
Herding Cats: A Comparison Of Linear Chromatic-Adaptation Transforms For Ciecam97s, Anthony Calabria, Mark Fairchild
Herding Cats: A Comparison Of Linear Chromatic-Adaptation Transforms For Ciecam97s, Anthony Calabria, Mark Fairchild
Presentations and other scholarship
There are currently five transformation matrices being considered for use in the linear chromatic-adaptation transform in a revision of the CIECAM97s color appearance model. Four of the matrices were developed independently for the purpose of transforming tristimulus values to spectrally sharpened RGB responses. The fifth is the Hunt- Pointer-Estevez transform of CIE tristimulus values to normalized cone responsivities. RGB images were transformed between CIE illuminant D65 and CIE illuminant A white point using each of the matrices and results were examined visually. In addition, pixel-wise '( and '(DE calculations between corresponding color images showed the performance of the four XYZ-to-RGB …

The manipulator includes a support and at least one member affixed to and extending away from the support. The member has at least two differentially activatable electrodes. The electrodes are configured to establish a first electromagnetic field in vivo between selected electrodes sufficient to manipulate a molecule relative to a target tissue and to establish a second, typically higher, electromagnetic field sufficient to cause transient permeability of a cell membrane within the target tissue. One method of using the device is for enhancing the delivery of a molecule into a tissue site. In a related embodiment the device may be …
Hybrid Wdm-Tdm Optical Communication And Data Link, Peter Delfyett, Brian Mathason
Hybrid Wdm-Tdm Optical Communication And Data Link, Peter Delfyett, Brian Mathason
UCF Patents
A hybrid WDM-TDM optical link employing a hybrid modelocked multi-wavelength semiconductor which provides approximately 4 to approximately 20 wavelength channels that makes possible modulated multiplexed data which when demultiplexed by ultra fast optical demultiplexing provides rates suitable for conventional electronic photo receivers. The link uses single-stripe GaAs/AlGaAs semiconductor optical amplifiers which simultaneously generate from approximately four to more than approximately twenty tunable WDM channels. Diode laser can also include InP, InGaAlP, InGaAsP, InGaP, InGaAs. A four channel version transmits approximately 12 picosecond pulses at approximately 2.5 GHz for an aggregate pulse rate of 100 GHz. When generating approximately 20 wavelength …

Rev. John Kucharik (B.1917-D.2001), Pastor Of St. Luke's 1968-1982. Photos And Obituary., Unknown
Text Materials of Central Florida
Rev. John Kucharik served as Senior Pastor of St. Luke's from May, 1968 until 1982. During the era of his pastorate, a team ministry was formed to assist him in his work with the growing congregation and school. After completing his service to St. Luke's, Rev. Kucharik served as Visitation Pastor for Trinity Lutheran Church (downtown Orlando) for several years. Eventually he and his wife, Eleanor nee' Svehla, became residents of the Lutheran Haven, where they lived until Eleanor's passing in December, 2000 and Pastor John's less than a year later. Hitting The Line Hard : The Height Of The Social Hygiene Movement In Oregon, 1911-1918, Jodi Hammond
Hitting The Line Hard : The Height Of The Social Hygiene Movement In Oregon, 1911-1918, Jodi Hammond
Dissertations and Theses
This thesis provides the history of a grass-roots educational campaign to educate the public of the dangers of venereal disease undertaken by reformers within the Oregon Social Hygiene Society. It recounts the forces which caused prominent citizens of the state to take up the hygiene society's cause and bring the organization to national prominence for state-wide educational work. The thesis considers the inherent tensions between purity and sanitary-based reformers within the hygiene movement. It demonstrates how reformers were able to put aside conflicting views for a time and unite to pursue educational goals. The thesis provides a blueprint of a …

The Demographic Response Of Bank-Dwelling Beavers To Flow Regulation: A Comparison On The Green And Yampa Rivers, Stewart W. Breck, Kenneth R. Wilson, Douglas C. Anderson
The Demographic Response Of Bank-Dwelling Beavers To Flow Regulation: A Comparison On The Green And Yampa Rivers, Stewart W. Breck, Kenneth R. Wilson, Douglas C. Anderson
United States Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services: Staff Publications
We assessed the effects of flow regulation on the demography of beavers (Castor canadensis) by comparing the density, home-range size, and body size of bank-dwelling beavers on two sixth-order alluvial river systems, the flow-regulated Green River and the free-flowing Yampa River, from 1997 to 2000. Flow regulation on the Green River has altered fluvial geomorphic processes, influencing the availability of willow and cottonwood, which, in turn, has influenced the demography of beavers. Beaver density was higher on the Green River (0.5–0.6 colonies per kilometer of river) than on the Yampa River (0.35 colonies per kilometer of river). Adult …
