Laboratory Evaluation Of The Entomopathogenic Fungus, Metarhizium Anisopliae For The Control Of The Groundnut Bruchid, Caryedon Serratus On Groundnut, S. Ekesi, E. A. Egwurube, A. D. Akpa, I. Onu
All Peer-Reviewed Publications
The pathogenicity of five isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae to adult Caryedon serratus was evaluated in the laboratory. All the isolates tested were virulent to the beetle but pathogenicity varied among the isolates. One isolate, CPD 4 was consistently superior to all other isolates in terms of mortality of the beetle, protection of groundnut pods from damage, reduction in progeny production and repellency to the beetle. At 10 days post-treatment, adult mortality treated with 0.1, 0.5 and 1.0 g of dry conidia equivalent to 3.6 × 108, 1.8 × 109 and 3.6 × 109 conidia of isolate CPD 4 per 50 …

Anomaly Induced Qcd Potential And Quark Decoupling, Joseph Schechter, Stephen D.H. Hsu, Francesco Sannino
Physics - All Scholarship
We explore the anomaly induced effective QCD meson potential in the framework of the effective Lagrangian approach. We suggest a decoupling procedure, when a flavored quark becomes massive, which mimics the one employed by Seiberg for supersymmetric gauge theories. It is seen that, after decoupling, the QCD potential naturally converts to the one with one less flavor. We study the N_c and N_f dependence of the \eta^{\prime} mass.

Gibbs free energy of ij-cluster formation ΔGij is obtained via the relation nij=Ne-ΔGij /kBT, where N is the number of molecules in the system, T is temperature, and kB is the Boltzmann constant. The saddle point on the free energy surface ΔGij versus i and j provides a measure of the activation barrier to nucleation ΔG *. A statistical mechanical formula of ΔGij is derived based on the physical-cluster theory of nucleation, and from which a molecular interpretation of ΔGij …

The college sets a goal of $8 million for the new Bornhuetter Hall. The issue includes a draft design of the dorm building. After the events of September 11th, federal authorities slow Wooster's recruitment of international students. Paul Ewald, professor of biology at Amherst College and noted disease expert, visits Wooster to speak on the wide scope of infectious disease and new findings in the field. A piece details information about the different small house on campus and the students that live in them. Additionally, the edition includes a music review of artist Tori Amos's cover album "Strange Little Girls."

Vcu News (2001-11-07)
VCU News, 2001-2002
VCU Today, the University’s first official administrative organ, began as a somewhat irregular monthly publication but moved to a bi-weekly newspaper format in the 1980s. The newspaper changed its name to VCU Voice in 1988 and ten years later it appeared under the title UniverCity News. As it neared the end of its run as a physical newspaper, the publication became simply VCU News. These four publications were essentially the same periodical published under different titles by the Office of University Relations. VCU News appeared online for the first time in 2002.
