A research has been carried out on 100 secondary school teachers of JAJS, Sabak Bernam. The aims of this research are, firstly, to detect the teachers' working motivation level: secondly, to detect the teachers' level of satisfaction towards motivator and hygiene/actors; thirdly, to detect the significant correlation between the satisfactory level towards motivator and hygiene factors, and the working motivation level; and fourthly lo detect the extend in which individual characteristics cause differences in working motivation factor. A questionnaire was administered to 71 students of the Foundation Programme in the selected institution. It secured a total response rate of 100%. The questionnaire was divided into two parts. This study attempts to identify the interpretation of letters used in algebraic expressions and equations by a sample of 139 Form Four students in an urban secondary school. It also determines the distribution of their levels of understanding of algebraic notation and their cognitive levels. In this paper, we use the case of Chinese religion in Singapore to examine the relationships between religion and modernity, and between social processes, on the one hand, and spatial conceptions, forms and structures and temporal practices, on the other. Specifically, we look at how traditional Chinese rituals are being modified, reinterpreted and invented to fit with modern living. Such ritual transformations entail reconstructed notions of space and time. THE MAJOR published, first-person accounts of early sociology and sociologists at the University of Nebraska include perspectives by George Elliott Howard (1908, 1927), Olivia Pound (1916), Hattie Plum Williams (1919, 1920, 1929), Edward Alsworth Ross (1935), Hutton Webster (1952), and Joyce O. Hertzler (1929). To this instructive and growing list we are pleased to add Lucile Eaves’ sociological autobiography, written in 1928, as well as an example, drawn from Nebraska’s University Journal, of her contemporary observations on social life (Eaves 1914a, b, 1915a, b, c).
