Marketing Library Resources And Services To Distance Faculty, Kate Adams, Mary Cassner
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries: Faculty Publications
As academic libraries and librarians experience an increasingly complex higher education environment, it is essential to market library resources and services effectively. One component of a library’s marketing plan for distance learners can be an assessment of the needs of distance faculty. Teaching faculty are influential in affecting student perceptions and their use of the library. This paper reports on an assessment of the needs of faculty who teach classes in distance graduate degree programs. Results from the survey provide strategic direction for delivering and marketing services to distance learners and distance faculty.

A Study Of The Effect Of Computer-Based Mastery Quizzes On Student Learning, Darren Provine
Theses and Dissertations
This study was designed to measure the effect of mastery quiz techniques on the test scores of undergraduate students enrolled in computer science classes.
The experimental group took on-line mastery quizzes, administered over the Internet via web browser; the control group followed a relatively standard pop quiz methodology. Test scores of these groups were compared at the end of the study.
A two-sample t-test showed no statistically significant difference in the scores of the two groups.

Department of Psychology: Faculty Publications

Three survey locations were used: doctors’ offices, a public shopping area, and meetings of a women’s organization. A total of 636 community residents, varying across major demographic categories, participated. Participants completed a 23-item survey, designed to assess which factors consumers perceive as most relevant in choosing a PCD. Participants perceived professionally relevant factors (e.g. whether the doctor is board certified, office appearance) and management practices (e.g. time to get an appointment, evening and weekend hours) as more …
