Risk And Resilience Factors Linked To Problem Behavior Among Urban Culturally Diverse Adolescents, Stephanie L. Crosby

This study examined several risk and resilience factors associated with sexual intercourse, gang involvement, and alcohol and drug use among 332 urban culturally diverse adolescents aged 12-16 years. In general different patterns of risk and resilience factors were found to predict the three problem behaviors. Delinquency was the only factor that was significantly linked to sexual intercourse, gang involvement, and substance use.

Discriminant analyses supported that delinquency was differentially associated with low problem vs. high problem urban adolescents. In addition when compared to the high problem urban youth the resilient youth tended to have higher academic competence and intact two …

Airline Reputation: Customer Service In Crisis, Mary Catherine Demarco

Theses and Dissertations

The goal of this study is to show that listening to customer concerns can improve the reputation of the airline industry. The results show through quantitative and qualitative research that the airlines are experiencing a decline in customer service and may be on the verge of a reputation crisis.

A content analysis of articles from The New York Times and USA Today was done to show the type of message the media is sending to the public. Results show that the media is reporting on the airline industry in a negative light. The media is warning that the decline in …

Charles J. “Chick” O’Leary was born January 25, 1937 in Bangor, Maine. His parents were Charles, Sr. and Doris (Foley) O’Leary. He was childhood friends with William S. “Bill” Cohen; they played ball together. He attended John Bapst high school and started college at St. Michael’s, then took a year off to work on an oil rig and completed his studies at the University of Maine, Orono, receiving a master’s in History. Patricia “Pat” Eltman was born in Portland, Maine on August 22, 1950 and grew up in South Portland. After graduating high school, she worked for the telephone company doing secretarial work, and then attended the University of Southern Maine. She worked for Peter Curran’s state legislative campaign in 1974 and 1976, and in 1979 began working on presidential campaigns. She was Chief of Staff for Speaker of the Maine House, John Martin. Also in 1979, she worked for Regional Transportation. In 1980, she became deputy state director for the Carter-Mondale campaign and in 1984 worked on the Mondale-Ferraro campaign. In …

Panic disorder has been associated with pervasive social and health consequences similar to or greater than those associated with major depression. Studies have been found that support findings concerning diminished quality of life for persons currently being treated, or shortly after treatment for anxiety disorders, but little is said in regards to quality of life (QOL) in years that follow treatment. This research project attempts to ascertain if there is a difference between the findings of previous studies with this more recent examination of QOL in panic disorder patients.
