My motivation is simple. In order to understand the evolution of political theory, it is important to identify the strands of socialist thought in Hayek that with time have become the mainstays of the political left. Hayek's effort to find some common ground with his opponents led him to make unwise concessions to the benevolent use of state power. Of course, Hayek did not conceive of himself as the champion of the expansion of government power; nor has he ever been construed that way by friend or foe. Our conclusions may be summarized simply: Feldman itself should be overruled. The Rooker-Feldman doctrine should be abolished. Doubt should be cast on state supreme court management of the essentially regulatory function of licensing attorneys and disciplining attorneys and judges. Finally, there might be a need for a new doctrine to plug the small hole left by the Younger and preclusion doctrines - in other words, to bar state plaintiffs from jumping ship to federal court in midstream if they become dissatisfied with state court proceedings.

Incidence Of Myocardial Infarction In Coronary Arteries With Previously Non-Significant Stenosis (<50%) Identified On Angiography, Brandi R. Haik, Amy M. Schreur

The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of myocardial infarctions in coronary arteries with previously non-significant (<50%) stenosis identified on coronary angiography. The angiograms of ten subjects who had undergone cardiac catheterization prior to their acute myocardial infarction were evaluated. Six of the ten subjects (60%) were found to have an acute myocardial infarction in areas supplied by vessels with <50% stenosis identified on previous angiography. Three of these six subjects had underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) after angiography and one subject undergone coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) prior to the initial angiogram. Four of the ten subjects (40%) included those who had >50% stenosis identified on prior angiography in the infarct related artery. Although this study involved a small sample that did not yield statistically significant results, the data did point to the fact that an acute myocardial infarction can occur in vessels with non-significant (<50%) stenosis.

Characterization Of Rat Pulmonary Carboxylesterase, Timothy J. Wallace

The 1839 bp cDNA for rat pulmonary carboxylesterase was cloned by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR) from total rat lung RNA using specific primers derived from the 5' and 3' untranslated regions of rat hepatic cholesteryl ester hydrolase (CEH). The unique cDNA was sequenced and found to have 99% homology with hepatic CEH. This homology extends to the predicted amino acid sequences which show only six amino acid residue differences in the coding region: three conserved and three nonconserved changes. The aim of these studies is to analyze, by immunohistochemical methods, the emergence and distribution of vimentin and desmin in stromal cells of rat endometrium in early pregnancy and determine their role in decidualization and implantation biology. For this purpose totally 1-8 days pregnant 64 female and 32 male rats were used. On first day of pregnancy vimentin and third day of pregnancy desmin were staining respectively in the endometrial stromal tissue of rat. This experiment investigated whether hunger selectively influences attitudes toward common food items. Ss completed a take-home questionnaire on which they rated their attitudes toward food and non-food items when they were either hungry (45 Ss) or not hungry (45 Ss); after returning the questionnaire, Ss completed a second take-home questionnaire in the opposite hunger condition. Results of both between-subject and within-subject analyses revealed that Ss rated foods more positively when hungry compared to not hungry and that there was no difference in the ratings of nonfoods when hungry vs not hungry. Antibody to B-cell surface immunoglobulin D (IgD) or surface IgM results in crosslinking of Ig molecules and signal transduction. The function of these surface immunoglobulins has traditionally been investigated by extensive crosslinking experiments and interest has been focused on activation assays. We investigated the effects on apoptosis of culture with anti-(mathematical symbol) antibody (anti-(mathematical symbol)) concentrations ranging from 0.001 (mathematical symbol) mL-1 to 50 (mathematical symbol)g mL-1. Previous experiments have shown that weak dose anti-(mathematical symbol) antibody (anti-(mathematical symbol)) increases mature B-cell apoptosis at both 16- and 64-hour time points, while greater dose anti-(mathematical symbol) results in cell cycle entry …
