An Annotated Bibliography: Published Articles (1861-1998) About The Wild Mammals Of South Dakota, K. F. Higgins, A. E. Gabbert, T. R. Cooper, J. J. Higgins Mar 1999

An Annotated Bibliography: Published Articles (1861-1998) About The Wild Mammals Of South Dakota, K. F. Higgins, A. E. Gabbert, T. R. Cooper, J. J. Higgins

Research Bulletins of the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station (1887-2011)

Our goal in compiling this bibliography was to locate "every" published article with a connection to "any" wild South Dakota mammal. However, we understood from the start that this goal would be unattainable. Consequently, this collection can provide only a point of origin to readers interested in obtaining published studies (popular and scientific) about the wild mammals of South Dakota.

Interpreting Patterns Of Gene Expression With Self-Organizing Maps: Methods And Application To Hematopoietic Differentiation, Pablo Tamayo, Donna Slonim, Jill Mesirov, Qing Zhu, Sutisak Kitareewan, Ethan Dmitrovsky

Dartmouth Scholarship

Array technologies have made it straightforward to monitor simultaneously the expression pattern of thousands of genes. The challenge now is to interpret such massive data sets. The first step is to extract the fundamental patterns of gene expression inherent in the data. This paper describes the application of self-organizing maps, a type of mathematical cluster analysis that is particularly well suited for recognizing and classifying features in complex, multidimensional data. The method has been implemented in a publicly available computer package, GENECLUSTER, that performs the analytical calculations and provides easy data visualization. To illustrate the value of such analysis, the …

Developmental Trajectories Of Disruptive Behavior Problems In Preschool Children Of Adolescent Mothers, Susan J. Spieker, Nancy C. Larson, Steven M. Lewis, Thomas E. Keller, Lewayne D. Gilchrist

School of Social Work Faculty Publications and Presentations

Using hierarchical linear (HLM), we analyzed individual developmental trajectories of disruptive behavior problems between ages 3.5 to 6.0 years for 183 children of adolescent mothers. We examined how the level of problem behavior (intercept) and the rate of change over time (slope) are influenced by child's sex, mother's depression/anxiety symptoms, and mother's use of negative control for regulating child behavior. On average, disruptive behavior decreased from age 3.5 to 6.0. Child sex and maternal depression/anxiety related to the level of behavior problems but not to the rate of change. Boys and children of more depressed/ anxious mothers exhibited higher levels …
