Enterprise based object oriented (OO) and Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling makes it possible to build the needed visual environments to organize people, technologies and activities (Arias, 1999d). In our modeling approach, the focus is on "things and relationships between things" described in commonly used terms. The modeling software bridges the so-called "semantic gap" between the people and the computer language (Booch, Rumbaugh & Jacobson, 1999). An object can be a product, a process, a person, a team, a company, an application or the inter-relationship between other objects. 17β-estradiol enhances NMDA receptor-mediated EPSPs and long-term potentiation. Gonadal steroid hormones influence CNS functioning through a variety of different mechanisms. To test the hypothesis that estrogen modulates synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus, in vitro hippocampal slices from 2-mo-old Sprague-Dawley male rats were used to determine the effect of 17β-estradiol on bothN-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) receptor-mediated excitatory postsynaptic potentials (EPSPs) through intracellular recordings and long-term potentiation (LTP) through extracellular recordings. Intracellular EPSPs and extracellular field EPSPs (fEPSPs) were recorded from CA1 pyramidal cells by stimulating Schaffer collateral fibers. Hannah More was a significant literary, political, and social figure of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Ample evidence exists that More's only novel, Coelebs in Search of a Wife (1808), played a significant role in increasing the popularity and acceptability of the genre of the novel. Yet, More's rightful place in the story of the "rise of the novel" has been largely overlooked in literary criticism today.

This dissertation examines the life, work, and influence of Hannah More, an Evangelical Anglican, feminist, and social reformer. Emphasis is placed on those aspects of her life that demonstrate More's unique …

Attatchment Classification Among 18 Month Old Children Of Adolescent Mothers, Lynne M. Andreozzi

This investigation was conducted to examine the nature of the attachment relationship among children of adolescent mothers using a standard measure known as the Strange Situation procedure. This project compared the attachment relationships of children of adolescent mothers with children of older, non-adolescent adult mothers. Given the paucity of research on attachment among infants of adolescent mothers, the rationale for conducting this study was to supplement an existing weak literature base. The major prediction of this study was that there would be significantly more insecurity among 18-month-old infants of adolescent mothers. This report presents a summary of the key findings from a mailed survey to 2,000 landholders in the South West Region of Western Australia in 2006. The survey gathered information on the key social and economic factors affecting landholder decision-making about the adoption of practices expected to improve the management of natural resources in the region. The response rate for the survey was 69.4%.

The South West Catchment Council, Western Australian Department of Agriculture and Food and the Bureau of Rural Sciences were key project partners. Funding was from a mix of national, state and regional programmes, including the Natural …

The reaction of diethyl 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalate with allyl bromide/K2CO3 in DMF followed by hydrolysis provided 2,5-di(allyloxy)terephthalic acid. The conversion of 2,5-di (allyloxy)terephthalic acid to 1,4-di(2-benzoxazolyl)-2,5-di(allyloxy)benzene in PPSE was unsuccessful. However, the reaction of 1,4-di(2-benzoxazolyl)-2,5- dihydroxybenzene with allyl bromide/K2CO3 provided 1,4-di(2-benzoxazolyl)-2,5- di(allyloxy)benzene. DSC analysis indicated that 1,4-di(2-benzoxazolyl)-2,5- di(allyloxy)benzene undergoes a Claisen rearrangement to the corresponding diallyl product. The synthesis of 2-allyloxy-1,4-di(2-benzoxazolyl)benzene was carried out using 2-hydroxy-1,4-di(2-benzoxazolyl)benzene as starting material. DSC analysis was inconclusive with respect to a Claisen rearrangement. The reaction of 2-allyloxybenzoic acid with 2,2-bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane in PPSE was unsuccessful but the reaction of 2,2-bis(2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-5-benzoxazolyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane with allyl bromide/K2CO3 in DMF provided 2,2-bis(2-(2- …

The study identifies various painting systems that are successfully used in Indiana’s surrounding states and other industries. The identified systems are further screened and evaluated. After prudently comparing INDOT’s inorganic zinc / vinyl system with the waterborne acrylic system, the moisture cure urethane coating system, and the 3-coat system of zinc-epoxy-urethane, the results show that the new 3-coat system fulfills INDOT’s needs with the most benefits. Therefore, the 3-coat system is recommended to replace INDOT present inorganic zinc / vinyl system. To deal with the problems facing the lead-based paint, a comparison between full-removal and over-coating alternatives is made. Results …
