Utilizing An Effective Economic Approach To Family Court: A Proposal For A Statutory Unified Family Court In Pennsylvania, Stephanie Domitrovich
Utilizing An Effective Economic Approach To Family Court: A Proposal For A Statutory Unified Family Court In Pennsylvania, Stephanie Domitrovich
Duquesne Law Review
Pennsylvania's family court system is fragmented into various specialty courts. Other states have begun to reexamine the effectiveness of such a system and, using an economic framework, have taken steps to create unified family courts that better address the issues facing modern families and society. The author analyzes the effectiveness of such undertakings, discusses the underlying theories, and proposes that Pennsylvania implement a unified family court system by statute.

Kentucky Humanities Council Catalog
The Kentucky Humanities Council is an independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities committed to providing programs and services that facilitate an understanding and appreciation of Kentucky’s cultural heritage and future. The Council’s program catalog features scholars from across the Commonwealth who make presentations on a myriad of humanities topics. Later, costumed actors, who delivered dramatic monologues about Kentucky’s famous, infamous, and composite personalities, were added. The catalog has gone by various titles over the years: Kentucky Humanities Resource Center, Kentucky Humanities Council Speakers Bureau, Whole Humanities Catalog, and Humanities Catalog. This …

Educator Preparation & Leadership Faculty Works
This paper describes a study that took place within the context of the Science: Parents, Activities, and Literature (Science PALs) project. Particularly, the study sought to determine answers to the following questions: (1) What are the internal consistencies and substantive, external, and structural validities of students' perceptions, teachers' self-reports, evaluations of videotaped classroom science teaching, and expert ratings? and (2) Can students' perceptions and attitudes and teachers' self-reports be used as acceptable surrogate measures for videotaped interactive constructivist science teaching? Findings suggest that instruments based on social constructivism do not completely and accurately document science teaching based on interactive-constructivist assumptions.

Developing A Community Service Program For High School Students, Ellen M. Hoefer
Developing A Community Service Program For High School Students, Ellen M. Hoefer
Graduate Research Papers
Youth leadership development within community service allows teenagers to serve others, to lead, and to contribute to society in ways that support positive roles, personal values, and communal beliefs in justice and equality. Ideally, community service learning builds supportive structures for youth leaders, encourages positive dialog around new relationships, and empowers others as competent and purposeful individuals.
Learning is not merely answering a teacher's questions to get a grade, but asking oneself questions to understand and to know what to do. When learning is from real life, and the consequences are real, one may have to question the surface appearance, …

The United States was once the major producer of goods in the world. Today, the United States is the major consumer of goods. In addition, the United States is now the major developer and distributor of information such as software, content, news and entertainment. As a result of this new emphasis in information and services in the United States, Article 2B of the U.C.C. deals with transactions and subject matter that have never been covered by a U.C.C. There are many issues reflecting modern commerce. It is important for everyone to understand why an economy and commerce based on information …

UIC John Marshall Journal of Information Technology & Privacy Law
The Uniform Commercial Code is a product of business practices and social change. During the last two decades, the United States has transformed from an agrarian economy into an industrial power. Recently, the United States has transformed again into a post-industrial society predicated upon the copyright industries. Article 2 of the U.C.C. was drafted more than fifty years ago before the rise of the software industry and the Internet. The proposed Article 2B of the U.C.C. will recognize the new copyright industries and provide a commercial law tailored for the transfer of data, text and other forms of information. The …
