Extension and Public Service has completed ten years in the tenure system at West Virginia University. During the ten year time span, problems associated with the tenure system have occurred. Tenure status of Extension faculty and their job satisfaction have been an important problem for supervisors as well as faculty members. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between tenure status, selected demographic characteristics of faculty and their job satisfaction. Procedure. The Ambassador Of Development: Aretas Brooks Fleming, West Virginia's Political Entrepreneur, 1839-1923., Jeffery Blane Cook

Aretas Brooks Fleming (1839–1923) businessman and Democratic party boss came from a prominent Fairmont family with extensive political connections throughout the region. He was not rich, but was well born, and able and followed the Virginia tradition of marrying well. He used an extensive kinship network, which was a community unto itself, to build a successful law practice and to start his climb up the political ladder. Fleming's dedication brought both political and business success, as he served in the West Virginia legislature and then judge of the second judicial circuit of West Virginia. The perceived short- and long-term economic benefits of the World Cup, Olympic Games, Super Bowl, and the like have led businesses to develop joint bids with governmental units in effort to host such events. Increased competition has also created a need for businesses to find ways to differentiate their products in the market place, reach and influence new markets, and to get more return for their promotional dollars. For some, sport sponsorship has become an effective marketing strategy. The Case For Utilizing The World Trade Organization As A Forum For Global Environmental Regulation, Andrew L. Strauss

In his article "Environmental Policy in the New World Economy," Alan Miller discusses the environmental implications of globalization. Recognizing that the flow of international private capital to developing countries is far more significant than international development assistance, he questions how we can use public policy to maximize the positive environmental effects of private investment. Miller suggests the need to find strategies that utilize market forces to benefit the environment.
This article heeds Alan Miller's call by suggesting new approaches to thinking about the potential for the World Trade Organization (WTO) to play a positive environmental role.

Hyperlipidaemia is a powerful predictor of coronary artery disease, with a strong, independent, continuous and grades positive associationbetweencholesterol levels and risk of coronary events. Several large studies have shown the benefit of cholesterol reduction and there is clear evidence of the efficacy of statins in the reduction of events inprimazy and secondary prevention1. A 1% reduction in the total serum cholesterol reduces the frequency of fatal coronary heart disease by atleast 2%2. A l0% meandecrease inthe total serum choelsterol level reduces the incidence of both fatal and nonfatal myocardial infarctions3. Family physicians need to …

While little change has occurred in the total number of golfers in the United States, the total number of golf courses is rapidly increasing (3). This increase in market competition has made it vital for resort owners and managers to examine the variables which influence golfers to use and return to their facilities. A relationship that appears to form between golfers and golf courses which has been neglected is place attachment.
