At 08:30 the team started work. The victim was clearing the central lane of three lanes 25 metres from each other. Seasonal Effects On The Geochemical Evolution Of The Logsdon River, Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, Darlene Anthony
Seasonal Effects On The Geochemical Evolution Of The Logsdon River, Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, Darlene Anthony
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
The following research describes the collection and evaluation of geochemical data from the Logsdon River, an open-flow conduit that drains a portion of the Turnhole Spring drainage basin within the Mammoth Cave karst aquifer of south-central Kentucky. This spatial survey of nearly 10 km of continuous base-level conduit included seasonal sampling of carbon dioxide partial pressures (Pco2)> dissolved ions, and saturation indices for calcite (SIcal). The highest PC02 values are found at the upstream site, closest to the Sinkhole Plain recharge area, which creates under-saturated conditions. Rapid outgassing of C02 into the cave atmosphere creates oversaturated conditions for several thousand …

A Neglected Little Rebellion: The Farmers' Holiday Association In Dixon, Dakota, And Thurston Counties, Nebraska, 1932-1934, Travis Sing
Student Work
On the night of August 22, 1932, a Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha livestock train was twice detained by an unknown number of farmers on its way from Norfolk, Nebraska, to Sioux City, Iowa. The train was scheduled to arrive in Sioux City at 10:40 P.M. after leaving Norfolk at 6 P.M., but did not reach its final destination until 4 a .m . This episode became front-page news in many newspapers, including those in the metropolitan areas of Omaha and Sioux City, and was even mentioned in the New York Times. The train was halted by a group …
