The Design Of A Multiple Position Turret For Changing Robot End Effectors, William Lang Nov 1997

The Design Of A Multiple Position Turret For Changing Robot End Effectors, William Lang

Theses

This paper discusses the design and build of a multiple position turret used to simultaneously attach six end effectors to a four-degree of freedom Adept robot. The main objective of this thesis is to develop a prototype tool changer that is different, more cost effective, and offers more features and versatility than any other. Use of the turret allows the robot to quickly change the end effector in use by simply rotating any of the others into the ready position. This reduces the tool changing time in a high-speed assembly process that is normally associated with conventional tool changers disconnecting …

The Wooster Voice (Wooster, Oh), 1997-11-20, Wooster Voice Editors

The Voice: 1991-2000

Two roommates recount the event of how their dorm room ceiling falling was dealt with. Wooster students were arrested in Georgia for civil disobedience, while protesting a military-run school which has been linked to turning out South American assassins and drug lords. Members of the Bryan service house are recognized for their work in the community. A statue behind the art building, titled 'Pocahontas' draws criticism from students and staff alike, largely for sexist undertones. The final three pages cover sports news for the past week.

LOTIS is a gamma-ray burst optical counterpart search experiment located near Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. Since operations began in 1996 October, LOTIS has responded to five triggers as of 1997 July 30, which occurred during good weather conditions. GRB 970223 (BATSE trigger 6100) was an exceptionally strong burst, lasting »30 s with a peak at »8 s. LOTIS began imaging the error box »11 s after the burst began and achieved simultaneous optical coverage of 100% of the region enclosed by the BATSE 3 j error circle and the interplanetary network annulus. No optical transients were observed brighter …

A Room With A Bath, Joel Urruty Nov 1997

A Room With A Bath, Joel Urruty

Theses

This thesis is a response to a personal problem I have with modern day bathrooms. The bathroom is a room we frequent daily, yet it is often times the room with the least visual interest. The design of a bathroom is no small task; it has many parameters that need to be addressed. One must consider the functional aspects as well as the practicality of the bathroom. Yet its aesthetics must not be overlooked. As a furniture designer and a craftsman I decided to challenge myself with the task of designing a bathroom. The goal was to create a unique …
